Never said I agreed with the play calling, but it was obvious range wasn't the issue.

Your definition of range: How far someone can kick a ball. In which case, the "range" for most NFL kickers is well over 70 yards as witnessed by numerous kick offs that land outside the endzone.

My definition of range in that game situation: The distance at which the odds are greater your kicker will make the FG than miss it.

What do you suppose Garrett's definition is? At any rate, Garrett only thought 56 yards was "close to" Bailey's range, but he tried it anyway.

I just wonder when will JG take a chance and be aggressive for a change?
Any wrinkles , trick plays .. Hello?

Like the 56 yard field goal ,was a ripe moment for taking a shot at fake, even if didn't succeed we cud hav got a few more yards and May or my not have a first down, but atleast we would make the opposition wonder.

(At the same time I believe the correct call is punt and down it inside 10 yards.. But our punter was atrocious y'day)

Tony Romo: "Our football team is a close-knit group of people who will go back to work and learn from the mistakes each one of us made."

And how many times has Romo said this after a game?

Too many times to count. I am numb to anything anyone from the organization says. I have heard it too many times after each sloppy loss. And when the leader of the organization says this two weeks after a big speech by Hatcher to get everyone to focus on the season, I wonder if anyone in that locker room even has a pulse. Tired of all the talk and tired of all of the sloppy, unfocused performances. If you are a season ticket holder I really feel for you.

Bruce Carter: "I could have done a lot better on some of my coverages, staying on top. There are no excuses. Its my fault. I take all that."

#Cowboys WR Terrance Williams: "I felt like I was having a pretty good game. I was just trying to make a play at the end."

Romo's got the player speak down pat....probaly could run last years post game comments after the Seattle loss and get the same answers.

Many times. He pretty much says the same thing after every loss. I'm not sure really what else he can say & still tow the company line.

Hatcher said basically the same thing. And both Witten and Ware have also echoed similar sentiments in the past, yet it is now Romo speak? Every well coached team first player would say the same.

I think that range has a make ability quotient to it, every PK has the range to kick a ball 60-70 yds.... (see below) but few have 56 yard FG's within their range. In any case, it's just semantics, as you pointed out. I still think that it was a typical Garrett put the pressure on the defense /special teams job rather than doing the right thing.

It's not just Romo, they all do this. Ware, Witten says the same things as well. It sounds good, is the "right" thing to say but I always wonder if they honestly believe what they're saying.

The way the Cowboys played in second half, I don't think that missed field goal attempt has much of bearing on outcome of the game.
