I lived in Bangor, Maine for a couple of years and could take 10° there better than I can take 40° here in Texas due to the 60-70-80% humidities.40 is cold and miserable? Try living in Fargo for a winter!![]()
I spent a winter in Bangor as well. Much more snow there but not frigid cold like Fargo. I was born and raised in Houston and I agree…..the humidity does make it feel colder. I no longer think that after Fargo though, those neg temps with high winds is almost unbearable. We were in those places for work.I lived in Bangor, Maine for a couple of years and could take 10° there better than I can take 40° here in Texas due to the 60-70-80% humidities.
As far as Fargo goes I have no desire to go there in any season of the year. I don't understand anyone wanting to be there in the winter.
This ^^^ 100%!!!Or just trying to be mentally tough. If you can do it in bad conditions you can do it inside
My thoughts as well...it's not raining...it's just chilly? Isn't that perfect football weather?40 is cold and miserable? Try living in Fargo for a winter!![]()

Coastal Maine transplant here...40's is great weather for working outside here. The ocean current keeps it more than bearable. That snow do be heavy though!I lived in Bangor, Maine for a couple of years and could take 10° there better than I can take 40° here in Texas due to the 60-70-80% humidities.

True and I noted when I lived there so many of the weather systems came either from the west or SW, thus from overland not picking up ocean humidity. In some ways I really miss Maine especially during Texas summers. My wife, who is from NB, Can. loves the heat and humidity here (I'm 75 miles inland from the Gulf in SE Tx). She hates cold and has been here in Tx 25 years. We still fly thru Bangor and even Presque Isle going to visit.Coastal Maine transplant here...40's is great weather for working outside here.
