The 40 college quarterbacks who work as counselors for the 1,200 campers at the Manning Passing Academy get a special treat every summer: Eli and Peyton conduct instructional throwing sessions, break down film in the classroom and field questions about what it takes to be successful.

A former Manning Passing Academy camper from his high school days in Louisiana was invited to be one of the counselors and then did such a good job, he was invited back the next summer.

Mississippi State’s Dak Prescott enjoyed working with the kids before his junior and senior years and couldn’t get enough of what Eli and Peyton were teaching him on and off the field.

“Dak came in and he wanted to learn. He asked questions,” Archie Manning told the Daily News on Monday from New Orleans. “He was kind of a sponge around Peyton and Eli.”

Hopefully he absorbed more Peyton and less Eli.

It all going to seem so obvious in three or four years when he's a star.

Everyone will wonder how everyone missed it.

How fitting that he gets to go against Eli for his first game. Everyone brace yourselves, he might shake his hand afterwards.

"Archie Manning told the Daily News on Monday from New Orleans, “He was kind of a sponge around Peyton and Eli.” This is becoming a common theme when describing Dak. I remember reading several pre-draft analysis, and they said the same thing. The kid absorbs teaching/knowledge like a sponge. When you combine that with the fact that he already has his Masters degree, and his early success in the league, you can get an ideal of how smart and hard working he is.

Its ok if he absorbs "super bowl" eli... regular season Eli can be wiped away.
SB Eli kinda sucked too, bailed out by great defense and receivers making plays on terribly thrown balls

LOL -- obviously, Dak's willing to learn, regardless of whoever it comes from! Actually, I guess it's a good thing, Eli or not.

It's hard to not like Archie Manning. Seems like a really good guy. I like Peyton as well. Eli? Nope.

I'm getting pretty excited for this weekend. We will see what Dak does when the games actually matter.
