Cowboys requesting permission to interview eagles DB Coach Parker

You’d have to make Parker asst head coach and even then, why would he want to go behind another young up and coming DC? Either needs a couple of years at DC before they start thinking HC.

No way both are hired.
Agreed, but just to play the thought out, did they have any overlap in Denver?

very surprising, and promising. and with them already interviewing Orr doesn't scream Rooney Rule, either. Good stuff.
Banda, Jones, Parker, Orr.

Any two would satisfy the Rooney Rule.

We’ve only had two minority coordinators in our history, so it’s a good sign that the net truly appears to be wide and except for Gannon (60), none are older than 47.

They definitely are in the comments where this was announced on X. The funny part is the majority thinks they can deny the request.

The majority? Lol yeah ok man, you tell yourself whatever you need to.

"Dallas fans think Eagles fans are losing their minds over this. Lol

We lose guys to coaching promotions like every season. We're kinda used to it."

^^^ this comment has the most likes out of all the engagement on that post.

But the majority of Eagles fans are losing their minds.

Lol!!!!!

Maybe Jerry got to the point where he called all the guys on his DC co-ordinator list only to be told that the person was either dead or in an assisted living facility.

Some more tears.

I’m sure it’s not that serious and some are not crying, but it’s still funny
I’m of the opinion that if Vic plans on retiring anytime in the next couple years, just do it now so that we can elevate Parker to DC
There will be change this offseason; however, please not there. There’s 30 other teams. Pick another one.
Probably just trying to brain screw us/steal team info
No. Just say we're grooming him to take over for Vic when he retires and deny the request due to succession planning
NO PLEASE GOD NO SOMEONE TELL JERRY THAT CHRISTIAN PARKER IS BAD. PLEASE GIVE YOUR THOUGHTS. !!!???!!!???
Come on clownboys, didn't you see how many big plays our secondary gave up in the playoff game? You really want a piece of that?

(Please don't go, Christian.)

Eagles would get a supplemental draft pick if we hired him. (Or ravens for Orr, Vikes for Jones or Browns for Banda)

Nakobe Dean is not an excellent cover LB. He is an excellent run fit/ North South LB. Those are his strengths. Not coverage.
The Eagles defense, and overall pass D, improved considerably when Dean came back. His speed covered the 5-8 yards behind the LOS where the TE’s roam.

lol, yes, they are mad.

They knew he was going to get interviews but they are coping hard with the first request for him coming from Dallas.

I liked this guys gif reaction to the news.

That is hilarious.

Not a great move. Typical example of bad logic.

He reaps the benefits of Fangios defense. Do we REALLY want a guy that's only coached defensive backs to LEARN ON THE JOB as a OC for a new team with bad talent? Recipe for disaster.

Get a guy that's had success as a Def coord before...who won't take a year or two to acclimate to running an entire defense vs just being a glorified assistant to Fangio?

Jim Schwartz, if he becomes an option

Didn't see a thread for this one. Please delete if I missed it

Sources: The #Cowboys are requesting permission to interview #Eagles DBs coach and pass-game coordinator Christian Parker for their vacant DC job.Parker, who has been coaching since age 22, has received DC interviews in the past and has been a key part of Vic Fangio’s defenses. Both Cooper DeJean and Quinyon Mitchell were named first-team All-Pro under Parker’s coaching this past season.
