Cowboys' Rookies Hit the Wall

Since the bye week we have looked sluggish & I think our rookies have hit the wall, particularly Pettiti & Ware-- Pettiti has played every offensive down and Ware has played extensively (he also learning new position and being doubleteamed). Same goes for Spears & Canty, although being rotated constantly has helped. The only rookies with any zip left are Barber (didn't play much til 5th game & Burnett who just now getting playing time. Don't see how Parcells can overcome this problem--cause the bye week didn't solve it.

Didn't get to see the game here in Florida but from what I understand our OL isn't getting the job down. Pettiti hitting the wall explains him and Tucker will never replace Adams. Johnson lacks strength/size (although I wonder if in offseason he can increase strength and learn leverage) and gets pushed back and Allen/Riveria unable to help him and also the tackles. Since Parcells doesn't trust the OL to protect Bledsoe, coaches are calling conservative game to prevent Bledsoe from getting killed and ending our season.

Unless somehow Cowboys can turn up the volume in the Denver game, I now doubt we can beat the Broncos. Our OL no longer can protect Bledsoe enough so he has time to get the ball off and our defense is wearing down. Don't mean to sound pessimistic and maybe somehow we can turn it around on Thursday, sure hope so.

I don't think that Pettiti has played that badly at all. He's played quite well. Tucker has done OK in Adams absence. Adams definately, regardless of his inconsistancy at times, is showing us why he is considered a top Tackle in the game. Someone mentioned it when he went down, that for all those complaining about Adams, we were about to find out how good he actually is. Tucker has been adequate in his absence, but the reason I just don't see us going to the Big Dance this year, our O-Line is too inconsistant. Week in and week out, we have trouble establishing the run.

I saw the game - Petitti suffered a near concussion and his leg was redinged to my eyes. Detroit has a formidable front 4 and hit Bledsoe a lot today.

Canty and Spears are doing their jobs even if they don't show up in stats. See 7 points on board = they are mucking it up as 3-4 DE's are asked to.....

Ware is struggling. He's getting owned man up on tackles and not getting around the corner.

There will be a post soon from someone that saw Chargers Merriman record 2 more sacks today....I saw one - he bulled over a tackle.

I think our rookies all in all are doing just fine.

We won 20-7 in a trap game. And are now 7-3 - sit back and enjoy the journey!

Games are won and lost in the trenches, and anytime your opponent is held to 7, or 13, or all the other shut down performances we've had this year, you gotta realize it starts up front.
