Who is to say the preparations have not already been conceived and ready for implementation?

They could be. But you can't always plan for the unexpected. However, planning, in this case, has more to do with manpower because what is being said is that the venue won't be ready with one day to prepare. You can take care of that by hiring more manpower.

Again, who's to say that contingency (e.g. additional manpower) has not already been formulated?

I hope all Cowboys fans enjoy seeing this team play that particular weekend. Afterwards, I hope to read reports concerning how well the NCAA game was hosted by AT&T Stadium and Jerry Jones. It should be interesting whether this particular topic held any merit whatsoever before Florio decided to "spice it up" a bit.

I don't get the point of your questions.
I merely said that when you have millions of dollars on the line, you'll find a way to accommodate both events. Money and the potential to make more money will motivate people to get the job done.
I really don't care whether they have a contingency plan or not, though with that much money involved, I'm sure they do. And since the games are two months away, if they didn't, somebody is working on it even as we speak.

That's okay.

Certainly, I have zero facts to back my assumption. Nonetheless, I think it is logical to assume the solutions for the potential scheduling conflict had been conceived well-before the DMN published its article. To their credit, the DMN included references of similar scheduling conflicts that had favorable outcomes. To be honest, I probably would not have commented on the (non)issue if not for Florio's added nonsense based on the same DMN article. DMN's documented examples of similar scheduling should have negated his unnecessarily added commentary.

Had a layover in Dallas last Thursday and went over and took the VIP tour of the stadium. I seem to recall our guide saying it takes 12 hours to change the field over. Maybe that was strictly the turf change but I would think that leaves plenty of time to get everything else ready. Highly recommend that tour by the way. Was sweet being in the locker room and down on the field. Would be better to see a game there but I'll have to wait for that one.

As recently explained by Jeff Mosier of theDallas Morning News, the possibility of Cowboys playoff games in January could create a logistical issue at AT&T Stadium, where the first ever college football playoff championship game will be played on January 12.

With the NFL’s divisional round set for January 10 and 11, the turnaround from the NFL playoff game to the NCAA title game could be as short as one day. The plans initially called for the NCAA playoff apparatus to take control of the stadium on January 2, one day after the Cotton Bowl. Now the 10 days for preparing could shrink, considerably.

Let them play it at the Cotton Bowl.

Stuff like this you try to plan for in advance but it is not a problem until is a problem. Which also means it is not a story until it is a story...

Fair enough. I really didn't think this issue was all that big a deal. We sent a man to the moon. We'll make sure the venue is ready for both the college playoffs and the Cowboys playoffs. :)

The NCAA might have to pay people OT to work around the clock. That might cut into their multi-million dollar profits. You have to feel for them.....
