Dallas turned its fortunes around last season by churning out a clock-chewing, ground-happy attack. With DeMarco Murray landing in Philadelphia, the Cowboys must find help in the backfield. We thought Dallas would move up to make a play on Todd Gurley or Melvin Gordon. After they failed to do so, the 'Boys are a strong candidate to swing a trade for the runner they adore in Round 2.

This does come with the normal disclaimer: it is Rapoport.

I'd trade up a few spots for Coleman - maybe give up a 5th rounder for him (or better yet, swap 5th and 6th with somebody).

It's going to be fun on Sunday when the draft grades come out. Cowboys whole draft will be tied to what RB they select.

If Dallas is truly concerned about RB, they should just offer the 2nd for AP. They cant' afford to give away draft picks (to move up) based on need.

I think Jerry thinks he has his Murray replacement in McFadden, with Randle/Williams as insurance. And he could be right. So I don't see a panic to draft a RB in the 2nd. Maybe in the 3rd or 4th though, if someone on their board is there for the taking.

There are some defensive prospects that may be worth trading up for, but cant say I would be excited about a trade up for rb.

If you think that I understand why but it doesn't matter what Jerry thinks anymore

It will be very interesting. Do we have a back in mind that we want on this team or are they willing to wait and see who just happens to be there for them when they pick?
I don't want to give up much but I like to know that they have a strong enough feeling about the back we choose to move up for him.

Regardless of what happens they will high five each other and act like they got their guy all along.

Oh, what a revelation!
So we lose a back, we need a back and we didn't take one in the first round. That means we'll have to move up to get one?
I could write this stuff in my sleep.

I will only trade up for a pass rusher using our 4th,it would be dumb to trade up for a RB.we can get great RBs in the 3rd in this draft.

According to Walters football value chart.
Our 2nd round is 300 points, just to move up about 12 spots, we would need to trade our 3rd pick which is 136 points.
There is still 8 RB's left and this would not be good value to move up for a RB.
Now if they want to get Devin Smith, even though a WR, that would be worth it.
But a RB and a DT can be there when we pick, as well as in the 3rd round.

Unless moving up for McKinney, Kendricks, OO, or Smith, maybe someone I'm missing and I know there is, I prefer to stay put. We can get a RB at were we are.
Coleman, Ajayi, Abdullah, Yeldon, Duke Johnson, rather in the 2nd or 3rd will be ok with me.

I think Coleman and Yeldon go before us if we stay at 60. Johnson is a maybe, but don't think he lasts till 91. It will be interesting tonight.

How would you feel about McFadden being our lead back this year?

Im fine with an rb by committee approach. Honestly anyone we draft at this point is likely to split a lot of carries anyway, so I rather spend a 2nd round pick in a trade up scenerio on a defensive player looking at the talent still there. If an RB falls into our lap and that's the best player then take them.

Jason doesn't really like a RBBC approach. Sure it may start that way but evetually whichever back is the most successful on the field and on pass protection will be the guy. I am hoping we get Duke Johnson who reminds me so much of Emmitt.
