Dallas is now only 5.84 mil under the cap. Thanks Dez for the loyalty.

Lol i know the hate will come for this, but this is something the team didnt need. This is something that didnt have to happen.

I know Dez needs to fight for his money, and they were doing this. But in the middle of contract talks when they were so close he got it in his head that it was a smart thing to switch agents. After he had said he would stop talking about the contract negotiations and wouldnt deal until after the season. But in the middle of the season he started opening his twitter account to mouth off about his contract. After he said he was done talking about it.

So he switches agents and his new agent Condon uses the 114mil contract talks as a starting point and going up from there. Instead of working around the numbers that were being discussed and almost agreed to. thats why Jerry Jones was upset with him switching agents.

It's not the fault of Dez Jerry has mismanaged the cap. He should get paid. Not over the top but a fair price.

If the Cowboys truly believe the Romo five year talk then they must restructure Tony.

They might claim to believe it but anyone in a managerial position would be foolish to risk all that $$ on that actually happening. The chances for something quite bad to happen are simply too prevalent. I expect they'll pass.

all that cap space just WIPED OUT with a stroke of a pen.....love Dez but not liking the price tag.... Looks like the Cowboys could lose a lot of their own players to FA now....alone looking for DL help for the Defense....not worth the price....

We will recoup some cap space with pay cuts from restructuring Carr (or cutting). And I am sure there are a few other options for us. Things will get sorted out. No worries.

They will work out a contract for him as soon as possible. Dez needs to get what's best for him and Dallas could not let him go to FA. Semantics...................

Now, I just hope that they work something out because I don't want Dez to feel wronged and jet to another team next season or the one after. Worst case for this upcoming season: he holds out :(

But, I have faith that it will get worked out, sooner than later.

Theres no doubt in my head the cowboys will work out a deal. My point in my OP was it didnt need to happen that way. For all the words Dez has talk about his displeasure, he is the one to blame. He shouldve kept working towards a deal with parker instead of signing with another agent if he wanted it done. I hope they get that done within 8 days.

I was hoping we would be able to get better since we came so close to last year. I have a hard time seeing how we can get better since I don't put too much trust into rookies. I wasn't asking for Suh, Hardy, McCourty or anything like that. I was just asking for our own guys coming back. I have a feeling we lose a lot of them and don't replace them with anyone.
