Twitter: Cowboys set to interview Whitecotton for DC

I don't think it's bad they interview as many people as they can.

What is important is who they actually hire.

For example, sometimes a team will interview a coach on their staff just to get their name into the higher position mix of other teams in future years as a way to endear themselves to the coach in exchange for helping them with their future career.
Dear Leader:
You are absolutely correct about interviewing as many chaps as possible.
An ancient man at Tai Chi once told me that a net full of fish will give you one large, valuable fish. So in numbers comes a diamond surrounded by trash.

If this is true, WOW.

Jerry loves to tease us with real coaches and then look to an in house guy he can control.

If this is a Schotty hire. WOW. I already disliked him, but this will send me over the edge.

It is probably more of will Leonard want to keep Whtecotten on staff.

Maybe Whitecotton asked for an interview. Maybe he wants the experience for his future. In all careers, people seek interviews as part of the growth and preparation process.

Seahawk's DC was our inhouse guy that people are ruing over now. He was our DL coach that was part of the defense that got killed by the Packers in the playoffs, yet he seems to be doing great as the DC in Seattle.

I hate Jerry the GM as much as anyone, but I don't see anything wrong with interviewing an inhouse candidate.

Of course, like who the hell did not see this coming?

I'm sorry, but if Jerry makes this guy the DC after he helped coached the 4th worst defense in league history.........

Can't take any team seriously that would do that, just can't.

There is when the defense was the worse in franchise history and the DL was a massive problem until they made another trade for a DT.

This is lazy front office work, yet again.

It’s also how we ended up with Schottenheimer.

Our DL has sucked for last 15 years. Way before our current DL coach and when that Seattle DC was our DL coach. He's doing fine in Seattle with better players. If anything blame Jerry for drafting sucky defensive players.

It’s only been the worst in franchise history once though.

And Whitecotton was a part of that.

When everyone else declines, Whitecotton will be the hire. Jerry will sell it as he was his guy he really wanted from the start. After all, the DT’s were a strength all due to Cotton irregardless that he was gifted Q and Clark. I am fluent in Jerryisms :muttley:
This is the end game.

If you were at all intrigued with him as your potential DC, then why the heck didn't you fire Eberflus with 4 weeks left and see how he looks?

That said, this really should not be the hire.
