You tag him with a first or second round tender and let him seek a trade if he decides he wants to stay for 25 million yeah but that's not why he came here he came here because Dallas would expose him and give him the best stepping stone to a number one wide receiver job and the money that comes with it.

They're flat out insane if you think we should pay him anything over 28 but I'm thinking 25 for a backup is exactly what is necessary to make sure you have money to build your defense..facts not emotions..

Obviously you cant pay him top WR money, but look at what Philly did with AJ Brown and Devona Smith. They were able to make it work.

We're not telling you is he will not take Devante Smith money I just think he would flat turn that down Of course I would jump all over if he wanted to take 25 million or 26 million to be the backup here that's fine WR 2 they should pay him for sure but anything beyond that you franchise tag him you use the extra picks and you get a receiver high in the draft besides the fact that Flournoy, TUrpin and Maybe holden Will continue to develop They're here for a while we have WR1 they were gonna pick TET you know the guy from yesterday If he was there that was their pick george wouldn't even be here right now and we'd have been fine with a rookie contract so they'll still do that if George leaves they will get a high enough dry pick to move up in the draft and pick a wide receiver that's one of the top receivers that's all you need on the other side of Lamb..

We are in agreement I just don't think he's taking Smith money I just don't think he will that's not where his personality is and where his agent is...

that's how the game works we gave up a third and a fifth you're going to get tagged so that way we can get a second back and now we won we get him for an entire year plus a second round pick... I think this dudes free and he's not free we will tag him and then we'll talk with his agent and him and say go seek a trade we're not going to hold you hostage and let's see who is willing to give up a second round tender or maybe we put a first round tender on him I don't know whatever it is he isn't walking I think some of you think he's just going to walk right out of here no that's not how it works we own his rights to his original deal..

Yeah I know they will franchise tag him. But, if he wants out, he knows how to push buttons lol.

if there was a reciever like pickens as you said, and there is 11 games left in the season. what would you be willing to part ways with for him? knowing how expensive he was going to be. would you give up a 2nd? or a 1st? because we are going to get a 3rd probably if he leaves as a FA. so why let him go for a 3rd and ofcourse nothing lower than that!.

I get the logic of trading him now. We aren’t going anywhere this year. I think ghe chances of us extending him is slim. Tagging him is an option but how much better will we be next year? We aren’t a couple players away on defense. I’d sure consider it if a first was offered. 3 first rnd picks next year allows you to get 3 good players or one top 5 player and maybe an extra two. If gives you a lot of options

If you are paying everyone on offense it’s a little hard to field a good defense. Every single resource can’t be used on offense. Hardly a dumb post it’s an interesting question. You will to pay two receivers over 30 million a year? Only so many balls to go around. Pickens won’t be putting up these numbers when Lamb gets back.
If they can get a first then you have to entertain it.

Nope.

We have money & 4 first rounders the next 2 seasons.

Getting rid of Pickens would be bad. Hes a game changer.

His skill set is also the perfect compliment to Lamb.

I will speak slowly for you. You referenced my post about trading Pickens for draft capital. You sarcastically referred to how we are a few drafts from a SB. My point is we are much farther from a SB by not adding draft capital. Try keeping up genius.

I don't think they'd get a lot for him. Unless a team at the trade deadline is a Pickens away from the SB.
