Cowboys should consider trading Pickens

I wouldn't trade Pickens. Have the O remain the strength of the team. Draft a bunch of defensive players next year and bring in a good DC. They should be good enough to compete next year.

I did not say he hasn't, and so has every other kicker we have had.

Are we going to kick a 65 yard field goal in the middle of any quarter? No we are not.

I doubt we would even do it in a tie game with 2 minutes on the clock.

We don't have the defense to back up a missed 65 yard FG. The only time we would do it, is if we are down 3 or less with little to no time left.

How often does that happen?

Aubrey is a legit generation talent, but he is waste on this team. He needs to be on a team with a legit defense. He could win games by himself on a D like KC, that frequently holds teams to 17 points.

Fair enough. If you are going to pay him you have to give him weapons. My opinion is the money they paid Dak and the roster spot he's taking is the waste. But we are stuck with him so we should try and make the best of it. I think we should consider keeping him because he's an excellent player and that's what you want on the team
I'm of the opinion that this was never the year (hence the Defense is built on hope of injury comebacks and former 1st Rd picks)....this year was to build the Offense, and if it and Dak succeeds, it's worth going All-In.
I am as tight as Stephen regarding CAP management, but cutting Diggs,Steel, Clark free's up money to reset and with thd 4 1st Rd's we can expedite it.

That extra 2027 1st will be even more valuable in 2027.
Yes, but that's Jerry's way of thinking, value over the talent. I only mentioned possibly using one of the 2027 1st Rd picks because the 2026 is strong across the DL.
When the draft is strong in Defense use the resources.

If some bizarre world confused GM of a real contender offered a first then it would be foolish not to take them up.
Should a second be in consideration as well?
Since we only gave up a 3rd?

Probably not gonna give up Jerry's wide receiver toy anyway but fun to speculate.
Because Jerry always likes playing Madden with his wide receivers and he usually keeps them when he trades for them.
Mingo may mysteriously crack the starting lineup soon.

We will not be a legit team until we can hold our competition to 20 points a game.

Sure we can win an occasional high scoring game, but this will not happen against good teams that are well balanced.

Jerry's strategy of having a lopsided washer machine, and choosing to ignore the loud thumping noises year after year, is not going to get us to a SB in 100 years time.

But I was referring to using 2027 1st Rd picks to expedite the defensive rebuild.
