Cowboys sign their 6th rd pick Devonte Holloman

IRVING, Texas – The Cowboys have signed their first draft pick, linebacker DeVonte Holloman, to a four-year deal before the first rookie mini-camp practice.

Holloman was the sixth-round pick, No. 185 overall.

The Cowboys still have to reach deals with Travis Frederick (first round), Gavin Escobar (second), Terrance Williams (third), J.J. Wilcox (third), B.W. Webb (fourth) and Joseph Randle (fifth).

Saw Detroit signed there 1st rounder today. New CBA seems to make signing draft picks a lot earlier than in the past.

With the new CBA and rookie salary cap, everybody knows what the numbers are. There really are no negotiations any more, except for perhaps the first round pick. May as well just get them signed.

NFL rookie contracts are all 4 year deals. Teams have ability to add a 5th year option after year 3, option not guaranteed.
