IRVING, Texas – The Cowboys signed offensive tackle J.B. Shugarts after working him out on Tuesday and cut wide receiver Carlton Mitchell.
Shugarts spent time last year on Buffalo’s practice squad. A Klein, Texas, native, Shugarts was a three-year starter at Ohio State. Mitchell signed with the Cowboys in January. He played for Cleveland in 2010-11 and spent time with Jacksonville last year.
The Cowboys also cut long snapper Charley Hughlett and signed Jackson Anderson. A Frisco, Texas native, Anderson worked out for the Cowboys two weeks ago. He was Duke’s long snapper for four years. Hughlett was among the Cowboys’ final cuts last year but could not beat veteran L.P. Ladoucuer for the job. The Cowboys signed Ladouceur to a five-year deal in February.
