6'4" 220 with 4.45 speed will get you a lot of chances in the NFL, but he's got to do something beyond that

  • LaRon Byrd is an American football wide receiver who is currently a free agent. He entered the 2012 NFL Draft out of the University of Miami but went undrafted. Byrd was considered the second-best receiver in Louisiana out of Hahnville High School. As a senior in 2007, caught 50 passes for 630 yards and 13 touchdowns. Byrd also played some safety, making three interceptions, in leading his team to a 10-3 record. As a junior in 2006, made 30 receptions for 447 yards and eight touchdowns. Byrd was ranked the No. 16 player in the state of Louisiana and was ranked the 60th wide receiver prospect in the nation by Rivals.com. Byrd was also ranked as the 69th wide receiver prospect by Scout.com.

yes, the 2-year deal is best IMO in these circumstances....guys like this increase the depth, and get the FO closer to BPA in the draft...that is not to say that this guy means that we don't draft a WR, just that if they believe in him enough to give him a 2-year deal, then perhaps they will wait until next year to get another WR....

They will be signing a lot of players soon. They have to put together a 90 man roster for training camp. They currently have 60 under contract. With 11 draft picks plus UDFAs they will probably add about 20 players there. That leaves about 10 spots for free agents.

Oh ... from the U ... The Playmaker will be all over him this year.
