So Walker who are you liking in the first rd with Donald and Barr off the board and having pick 16 with option to trade back.

One thing it should be a wake up call for Byrd if he has hopes of making it in the NFL. I would expect him to come to camp ready to work to give his best effort.

You have to admit those last three comp picks in the seventh are made for guys just like him with potential boom. If you do not like Washington in the seventh you do not have a lot to pick over, maybe Cody Hoffman BYU, Jeff Janis small school Saginaw Valley, that is about it for WR in the seventh, guys like Norwood from Alabama will be gone by the fifth/sixth. You can probably sense from my opinion I am not picking a WR till late in the draft. I would be tempted by Mike Evans in the first and someone possibly in the fifth if they are falling drastically.
I don't know why I said don't.

I meant to say that I do like Washington.

IMO Dez has matured greatly from his first couple of years. There were even reports of him working with some of the younger receivers last year. I can see Dez doing the same here and if this guy has anything in him such as a good work ethic, then I'm quite sure that Dez and the coaches can help him improve, if not this will probably be this guys last chance at the age of 24-25.

He supposedly looked very good in camp last year but suffered a severe concussion and ended up on IR. They needed another outside WR and this guy is their kind of player - cheap. If they don't draft a viable WR, there will be plenty of vets available later on as teams make cuts.

Excellent question.

There are a lot of really good players in that late 1st or early 2nd area that probably won't make it to #47.

Maybe Jimmie Ward. I would consider Ford, Attaochu, Moses, Filo, Crichton, Lawrence. There's also a lot of WR and CB talent in that area.

Basically most of the players rated by NFLDS before #47 could be in play; although, I wouldn't take a QB.

Who would you take?

Yeah, i was reviewing old Cardinals message board posts and they were comparing his style to Fitzgerald.

I don't know how you guys can be so certain about a guy unless you've studied his film.
Undrafted young guy, bouncing around the league. Dallas has to get to 90 man roster.
I've followed the game long enough to know that his role on the team would be special teams, not catching passes from tony; barring catastrophe.
The bottom 5 guys on any roster better be able to play special teams.

Yes, he needs to play ST, but I took your post to imply that he had no chance as a WR. If they did have a developmental WR that they liked, it's possible that he could start out as a inactive player anyway.

If you are 6'4 220 lbs and run a 4.5.....................you are going to get some looks from NFL teams so I am not surprised the Cowboys are "kicking the tires" here.

I really like signings like this, if he is just all measurables and cant run routes or catch the football, you cut his arse and lose virtually nothing. If you hit the jackpot and he actually turns into something, you have him for a 2nd year on a dirt cheap contract.

High reward, low risk. Its not like we spent a 1st and 2nd and moved up to draft the guy and he turns out to be a jag (see MO).
