IRVING, Texas – The coaching matchup for the 2016 Senior Bowl, held Jan. 30 in Mobile, Ala., has been confirmed.

Cowboys executive vice president Stephen Jones revealed on Wednesday night that the Cowboys coaching staff would work one sideline of the game this year. On Thursday, Senior Bowl Executive Director Phil Savage confirmed in a radio interview that the Jacksonville Jaguars will coach the other, and an official announcement also was made on the Senior Bowl's Twitter account.

This will actually be the third-straight year the Jaguars have coached in the Senior Bowl. Under head coach Gus Bradley, they finished with a 5-11 record this year and hold the No. 5 overall pick in the 2016 NFL Draft.

The Senior Bowl features some of the best senior players and NFL draft prospects. Cowboys officials always attend the invitational all-star game in person, but this year, Garrett and his staff will have more one-on-one interaction with the prospects...

Nothing evaluates players like a vanilla scheme.
I think they put more stock in the one on one training.
Then in game execution.
Grading the ability of a player to adapt to a new scheme in a short time and being able to execute it.

Good chance to really see the players in practice which is always the best place to get a good read on these kids

Yes.

I read where sometimes it can create tension within the organization as position coaches will fall in love with kids on the team and fight for them without seeing the big picture. Still I think it's a plus to interact with players and see their work ethic and coachability.

Here, Dallas has in place a tremendous Head of Scouting and a football man, both.

Those hoping to get a glimpse at Connor Cook from Michigan State

Michigan State QB Connor Cook declined his Senior Bowl invitation, according to Dane Brugler of CBS Sports.

We will take it one step further and add that Cook practically scoffed at his initial decision during the quarterback's senior season. We have seen plenty of quarterbacks make a similar decision in recent years: AJ McCarron, Geno Smith, even Marcus Mariota and Brett Hundley last year. However, the NFL has seemingly rewarded those who attended the event )EJ Manuel, Derek Carr, among others). Cook has plenty to prove, but apparently believes otherwise.

Local radio guy in Mobile thought it was a good decision because he believed Cook was nicked and wouldn't be able to perform at his best.
