They should put him on short term IR, you need that roster spot available for a player that can help you....
Why? Because Jamiel Showers will lock up the starting spot? I remember you were way ahead of the curve by proclaiming what a great QB Showers was last year
He also called the Prescott pick so....
They will roll him out in a wheelchair for week 1. Decked out in his uniform.
They better not.
In fact if they do put him on short term IR then the injury is way worse than reported imo.
6 weeks would be game 4. So if it's 6, he could only miss 3 games. And of course Carr only missed 2, which would have Romo missing one game.Carry him on the roster and don't place him on IR. Should he be able to come back in 6 weeks that would be Game 5 of the 2016 season.
The diagnosis for his injury is all over the place. Could be 4-6 weeks. Could be 6-10 weeks. If they place him on IR and he returns after 8 weeks of the season which would be 9 weeks following the injury, then we know Rappaport was correct.

If they do, the benefit is that it opens a roster spot.
If they do, he also might not get his starting job back.
Wow !!! Godfather you are ice cold !!!!!They will roll him out in a wheelchair for week 1. Decked out in his uniform.
Might as well put Lee on ice as well and just start over...
Maybe my math is fuzzy ChildsPlay. But Tony got hurt a week ago tomorrow which was around two weeks before the season opener. So week 1 would be two full weeks since the injury, week 2 would be 3 weeks since the injury and so on...that would mean game 5 or week 5 on the schedule would be 6 weeks from the time of injury right? Meaning he would miss 4 weeks of the regular season and be potentially ready for week 5 of the season.
You're right. My bad.
Game 4 would be about 5.4 weeks.
I made the same mistake last week but the short term IR is 6 weeks before he can practice but a full 8 weeks until he can play......since DAL has a Bye Week 7, he could come back Week 9 but only miss 8 games....I think he misses every bit of 6 games so 1 extra game and 3 weeks of practice is worth using the IR....like you said, rushing him back is the worst case scenarioThey absolutely have to put him on the list, if for no other reason to avoid the temptation of rushing him back. Once he's on, he is ineligible to return for 6 weeks and, really, he should sit those 6 weeks. With this type of injury, rushing him back could really make things a lot worse.
