I don't think it makes a difference one way or the other, this all ends the same way for Romo.

I made the same mistake last week but the short term IR is 6 weeks before he can practice but a full 8 weeks until he can play......since DAL has a Bye Week 7, he could come back Week 9 but only miss 8 games....I think he misses every bit of 6 games so 1 extra game and 3 weeks of practice is worth using the IR....like you said, rushing him back is the worst case scenario
But he couldn't practice those 6 weeks on IR. That looks like a bad idea. He should be practicing as soon as he's allowed which could be 1-3 weeks.

No way he goes on IR, designated to return. It could be disastrous if healthy by week 4 and Dak is a typical rookie.

This is moot IMO because before camp you were going to have Romo, Moore, and Dak on the 53. Now you will still have Romo, Dak, and Vet QB.

I think rehab is more important than practice for Tony.......I just don't believe any short-term recovery calenders... we need the roster spot and he needs the time.... I can just see wasting 3 weeks and seeing little improvement and having no option of using the IR at that point

Both are important.

shortly it becomes simply a pain tolerance issue. with that, romo won't allow himself to sit.

again, i foresee him begging to play by week 3-5.

I just don't want to see Romo rushing back and get hurt even worse. I'm hoping Dak can keep us in the mix and have a fully healthy Tony ready for the last half of the season.

He also called the Prescott pick so....

"Calling the pick" (i.e. The Cowboys will pick Prescott) is a guess and is completely different than proclaiming Showers as the future QB where he was trying to show his laughable talent evaluation prowess

Many many posters were wanting cowboys to pick Prescott

Yes. Tony needs whatever time it takes to get back and that is if he can get back. Remember what happened to him when he came back last year early, for nothing, and was killed again. I wonder at this point in his career how worried he is about the next hard hit and make no mistake he will be hit hard again. No player can play in fear and be successful. His career is very close to the edge in this regard.

Romo is not coming back. This is just like last year. He may come back for a game or two, but one big hit and he'll be out again. The writing is on the wall.

The future is here, good or bad. Romo won't save us anymore

Sure he isn't.

'They could happen to anybody'.

But they don't.

In fact, they don't happen to anybody else like this. Nobody.

I won't deny his bad luck, but the fact is there is nothing physical that makes them more likely to happen. His bones are no more brittle now than they were as a rookie. These injuries have nothing to do with age or a breaking down of the body.
