Titans, Cowboys, Bears In Play For Matt Jones
15th September, 2009 - 4:29 pm
ESPN - Free agent wide receiver Matt Jones spoke with the Titans, Cowboys and Bears last week.

Adam Schefter of ESPN writes that "Jones is better than some receivers on rosters now. But the fact that he remains unsigned is an indication that teams are being ultra-careful about the players they sign and the people they bring in."

---------

I would hope they would be more interested in OL or DL free agents.

ESPN tends to throw **** against the wall and hopes it sticks.... I highly doubt Dallas would contact that loser.

The extent of the conversation was Jerry's secretary telling him to stop calling.

Bears make a lot more sense then Dallas does. Especialy given the play of Austin and Crayton this weekend.

Where would Matt Jones be upgrading right now? He is not going to play special teams, and he isnt going to do more than Crayton, Williams, Austin.

Schefter probably twittered that while sitting on the toilet.

People actually get paid for writing this kind of nonsense.

You are probably more right than anyone cares to admit. Jones' agent has initiated all previous talks.

Why on earth would anyone assume Dallas feels a WR need after Sunday?

Now if this was about run stuffers on D...............

EXACTLY! ...and don't forget, Hurd, who just happened to be Romo's go to guy in the preseason didn't even catch a pass. As long as our WR's stay healthy (knock on wood) any talk of bringing in the likes of Jones or Baskett is ridiculous.

Bring in Baskett, so he can do the one thing he is good at in practice: torch P. Watkins. :laugh1:

But but but...Stash said Matt Jones was a lock to sign with Tennessee over a week ago because they were bringing him in and certainly would want such a great talent.

As for us, I dont know how people think we'd even be remotely interested in him, or any other WR right now.
