Cowboys thinking of a plan to jumpstart Darren McFadden and the running game again

IRVING
The Dallas Cowboys continue to struggle in establishing a running game compared to last season. They have combined to rush for their fewest yards in two of the past three weeks, gaining only 42 yards on the ground against Tampa Bay two weeks ago and 31 against Carolina on Thursday.

Those games have featured a clear decline in production by Darren McFadden, who has become the top back. He averaged less than 2 yards a carry in each of those games, gaining 32 yards on 17 carries against Tampa Bay and 11 yards on 10 carries against the Panthers.

Garrett downplayed that the workload is catching up with McFadden, who has never been asked to carry this heavy of a load at any point in his career.

“I don’t see something in him that suggests something that happened the previous three [games with a high carry count] prevented him from having success the next week,” Garrett said...

Wait....I keep being told that the running game isn't our problem on Cowboyszone.
I even read a long thread with a dizzying amount of stats that also said the running game is better than it was last year...

Oh guys which is it?

I just read a few more threads where people don't feel we even need to address the running game in the offseason. I'm told McFadden, Turbin, and Dunbar will carry this team.

I'm so confused.

Reading between the lines, I read that there is not a belief in a view that the sky is falling...only the view of the talent involved in moving the ball at present.

Wake me when they announce the plan to stop throwing the pick-6s.

I don't understand the preoccupation with the running game. The running game has not been an issue.

So, is the team in deep kimchee or not?

I didn't understand that either. Wasn't McFadden nursing a groin injury? Turbin had a pretty good average on his two carries.

Exactly, this cowboy coaching staff is a bunch of know nothing idiots and should be fired

We all know that running has no correlation with winning

Idgit, Can you please line up all the quotes by HOF coaches and players telling us the running game is meaningless and they don't care if they establish a run game it not so that we can put this to bed already

McFadden isn't a workhorse and has never been that, yet the staff is attempting to force him into that role. It's like trying to put a round peg into a square hole. And who ever heard to jumpstarting a RB? They either have the juice to get the job done or they don't. MCF has had a groin injury and jumpstarting is their answer? Sad. Turbin was touted as a good RB who is amazingly up to snuff on the playbook. Maybe it's time to allow him to prove it.

O line has been a major letdown this year that sure hasn't helped the run or the pass.

Other than when it begins to work well, we quit using it.
