So which defensive end or linebacker position does he play again?

Likely has to do with the fullbacks not looking very good. Probably cut Copeland.

That would make the most sense to me. He was a player they showed interest in during the draft process.

NFL.com report:

Analysis
Strengths
Good athlete. Solid pro-day workout. Very good straight-line speed. Has NFL pedigree -- brother, Ben, was a first-round pick of the Patriots and currently plays for the Saints.
Weaknesses
Undersized. Only a one-and-a-half-year starter with limited career receiving production (27 career catches). Underdeveloped blocker. Not a natural catcher. Long-term durability needs to be evaluated carefully given missed 2011 season following heart surgery.
Draft Projection
Free agent
Bottom Line
A pedigreed, H-back prospect with limited experience. Could warrant an opportunity as a developmental project.

Did find this interesting when researching about him:

The tight end from North Carolina State has Wolff-Parkinson-White Syndrome,
which causes the ventricles of the heart to prematurely contract

So now the Cowboys have Asa "Ben" Watson and Dallas "Clark" Walker at TE?

Haven't there been some decent fullbacks available over the past couple years.

Seems like Schmidt, Hynoski, and Conner have all been moving around in the last season or two.

I dunno how well any of them have played but I gotta imagine it would be good enough to forego another season of looking for a TE who can get the job done.

Is this true?

Asa Watson, the former Rock Hill Bearcat and N.C. State Wolfpack tight end, was waived Monday by the New England Patriots after one preseason game. Watson, who signed with the Patriots as an undrafted free agent in May, was trying to make the team where his older brother, Benjamin, broke into the NFL 10 years ago. Watson played in the team’s Thursday night preseason opener but wasn’t targeted with a pass attempt.

Vonta Leach is a FA. I'm sure he'd do better than a 239 lb TE.
