if all the players are equal talent at this point, why trade down? Surely the talent level drops off by the time that you use the pick you traded for, no?

If we actually liked a player, we should've just taken him. Why get cute so we can pick up an extra 4th rounder? Another Stanback/Skyler Green?

Or Tashard Choice?

This is how you run a draft. You trade up and down when it makes sense. And you never ever reach for a player.

Some of you guys are ridiculous.

Every knows, or should know, that you STICK to your board.

Obviously, the Cowboys didn't feel like there were players with second round grades, so they traded out.

I'd rather them trade than reach on guys like Tony Dixon or Quincy Carter.

The players they wanted didn't fall, and them's the breaks.

So you stick to your board even if it means that you have to bend over and have something stuck in your butt?

Good grief people, quit being such a collection of crybabies.

Pretty obvious there was nobody there they loved that much. No sense reaching for somebody or a position if you don't think the value is there.

We have two 3rds and three 4ths now. Could be a pretty active 3d rd for us.

dbair, you were perhaps expecting our fans to *not* piss and moan like a bunch of spoiled children when their expectations aren't met? Every player we've been talking about for the last 2 weeks is gone at 51, so we trade back to get value where we can find it, and the caterwauling starts. We're Dallas Cowboys fans: it's who we are.

i was thinking the same thing. all these posts are nothing but crying over something we can't control. not every draft is going to be full of stars.

Basically we traded T.O. and our second round pick for the Bills 3rd and 5th.

I guess they are saving their money for Ware.

Eagles and Giants ahead of us.

Exactly.

51 was way too early for Robinson. All the other guys were gone. I say trade down is good.

How about you get down off your high horse?

What high horse? Just calling it exactly like it is. Too many of you are going WAY off the deepend.

yeah, after my initial disappointment, I've started to see things a little clearer now. Clearly there's no starters or must have players available.

Dang! I've never seen a bigger collection of whiny brats in all my life. Some of you people will fuss and whine regardless of what the FO does. If you don't like it buy you a team and run your own war room....

Friggin' relax!

Well there is depth for the OL and DL there. Way too cute Jerry. Sometimes you just have to take the cookie handed to you.

I would rather have traded up for somebody we DID feel was worth drafting.

One potential impact guy is better than four guys who won't be on the roster in 2011.

New York gets Nicks and Clint Sintim.

Philly gets Maclin and McCoy.

Skins get Brian Orakpo.

Dallas has added nothing.

Sweet.

Wrong. We added Roy E. Williams.

I mean if those players are so good why haven't they been picked yet? :D

Anyway...I am ok with the trade down.

That was a disgustingly bad trade... if Roscoe Parrish is not also a part of the deal, then we got hosed.

#51 - 481 pts.

#75 - 249 pts.
#110 - 103 pts.

exactly jerry jones cant trade right, he either gives up too much for a player or doesnt get enough in return

and remember jerry jones was the one that said he came up with the point system, and jerry isnt following it

Yes you do. This was a bad break for us. Obviously we not only had no good value as far as desired players to select at 51, we also had no strong buyers for the 51st pick.

Taking a trade down for less than ideal value is better than reaching for a player.

Not surprised that nobody *****ing is willing to give the name of the player the Cowboys absolutely should have drafted at 51;)
