on BOTH sides of the ball. Seriously guys, I've been watching this team for 30 years and it's probably a miracle they made it as far as they did this season. We are just weak up the middle on both sides of the ball. Gurode is average at best, and Kosier and Rivera are just brutal. I hope they are both gone next year. I think Jones and Barber could be a very good combo with a better line. Also, I think Romo did a GREAT job for a first year QB. I know he goofed tonight, but I really think the young man is going to be a good one. But he needs better protection too. How many times this year was he sidestepping, rolling out, alluding, or generally running for his life? Everyone wants to blame him or JJ or the WR's, but our line sucks. Ditto on the defensive side of the ball. NO push from Ferguson, Spears or CAnty ALL YEAR LONG. When Ellis, went out Ware couldn't do it all alone up front and that exposed the secondary. We don't need a major over haul but a serious tuneup is in order, and I don't have confidence anymore that Parcells can do it. He won't be back in my opinion. Probably will be a mutual decision.:banghead:

I pretty much agree with you. The interior o-line did not show me much. Greg Ellis was a big loss although I think Carpenter had his best game yet. Still need some best available linemen in this years draft though on both sides of the ball.

Can't agree more. It's all about the Offensive and Defensive lines! No doubt about it.

I was relieved to see Carpenter play well tonight. He looked real comfortable. But what the heck happened to Bradie James? Absolutely awful. Bummer, but these were just two avg. teams in a horrible conference. The only team I think could play right now with the aFC powers is Philly. I hate their guts, but it's true.

:hammer:

But for me the play at center is terrible, add to this the fact that they should've taken the O lineman that San Diego took after we took Carpenter.

At least 11 years w/o a play off victory.

Thanks Jerry, way to go.:banghead:

Given that this was a priority over the offseason the Fasano and Green picks are incomprehensible. This team will go nowhere until we can run the ball consistently.

The problems for the Cowboys defensive line stem from drafting two guys who wasn't known for really putting pressure on the QB in Canty and Spears.

As far as the offensive line, the problems are the guards. The Cowboys spent money on Rivera when they should have drafted a young guard and they simply didn't get anything out of Kosier, should have known when the Lions didn't bother re-signing him!

I really think Jerry needs to get a reality check. They're moving into their billion dollar space ship in a couple seasons and he can't afford to have his team implode: they've tuned out the Tuna. I'll tell you right now guys, he might go after Cowher all guns blazing. And if he got him..........look out. No more T.O. and smash mouth football would be back. Can you imagine Romo with a great running game.........wow.

I am afraid that we need at least 2 new OL,,maybe 3, if you include Flo. I see him getting another year though. Rivera played his last game last night. Kosier will also end up being a bad FA pickup, I fear.

If we draft OL guys, they must be of starter quality. Jerry has been burned in FA with OL.

We need a back-up NG that can start in the future. I actually think we have better personnel for the 4-3 than the 3-4. If we stick with the 3-4, we need more players IMO>
