Wow this makes me happy. I love how all the old Cowboys still come back and love the team.

Let's hope Haley takes Gregory under his wing. Paired with Hardy on both ends, that could be a scary pass rush.

It's not so much that Gregory is learning from one of the best but that he and Haley are of similar stature and style. It should really translate well.

Great sig. Now that I think about it Beasley has a lot Biletnikoff to his game. He was deceptively quick, always open, fly paper hands, and always moved the chains.

I absolutely love how so many ex players are still involved with the organization today.

It may be because I don't pay attention, but I don't think there are many other organizations that have ex players there at training camp, hanging out around the new generation players, etc.

Just amazing and truly speaks to how special this franchise is.

I agree, it really goes back to Wade Phillips who wanted former players coming in during OTA and training camp. I like BP but only players he was bring in was his former guys. Wade looked at the franchise as family and former players an important part. Jason has continued to this

I can see ware coming back to retire a cowboy and maybe stay on the staff help out like Haley does often
Other than leverage, idk what Ware could really teach anybody. He only had one move.

I see Haley as a better teacher than Ware. Ware was good because of incredible physical ability including a 4.5 forty. Haley was better technically.

I remember when Wade was here, there was a summer Ware was reportedly working on getting more moves. Then Wade came out and said that he didn't need more moves and should focus on the ones he already had, that was the end of Ware trying to get better at technical skills.

Well, at the time he really didn't.

The problem was that, the second Ware lost a step, he had nothing left to maintain his production. How a guy as talented as DWare never learned an inside move, even if Wade told him not to, is beyond me.

I love this but it made me realize there is no chance Ware comes back here. That chapter is over.

Originally I thought that Denver cuts him going into the 3rd year of his contract, and he comes back here for limited money. Not sure how that would work.

Why would you want that loser back here ?

Give me the signature game he had in Dallas ?

There will come a day when Ware, just like that traitor Murray, will regret ever leaving Dallas. That day will probably be the day Dallas kicks the crap out of Denver in the SB. I can see Dallas' defense taking Manning out the way they did Jim Kelly and then crushing the Bronco's. For the record, I do not place Ware in the same category as Murray. I will always respect Ware because he made it known that he would not play for an NFCE rival. Now Murray, that POS, is a different story. Screw Murray.....

He's too nice a guy to not listen to what the head coach of his team tells him to do.

Depending on their approach (motive), old guys can either be of real help or just plain get in the way. As a friend, mentor their presence can be invaluable- especially if they truly put the players above their own egos and past. I think there's only so much they can 'teach' however... these are gifted athletes. You either got it or you don't- that's what gets one to a 1st round grade like Gregory- not something that was taught. If a vet truly wants to help, they'll realize that, teach what they can but, mostly, just offer support, encouragement, constructive analysis... and get out of the way. It's a different game; always evolving.
