I think part of it's just Coop being a "good soldier" and telling the media what he's supposed to / what they want to hear, and part of it is that he's legitimately glad to get out of the tanking death trap that is the Gruden Raiders.

What constitutes a failed play?

A successful play gains 40% of yardage needed for a new set of downs on 1st down, 60% on second down and 100% on 3rd down. I don't know if that's the rule of thumb they are using in this context though.
