Terrence Williams - Not convinced this is the # 2 receiver we need. While I praise his blocking, his routes leave something to be desired. His lack of any form of fight on that interception drove me crazy, I really hope he simply just did not see the ball in the air. For several games now, he is simply not getting open despite having single coverage. In my honest opinion, we need a speed receiver to stretch the defense. Wanted Emmanuel Sanders last year, he would have been perfect complement to Dez. Williams does not do anything exceptionally well in receiving game.Haven't done this in a while, but this game merits special attention. Carefully reviewed all phases of this team. Wanted to look at subjectively and not emotionally. Here are my thoughts:
I'm more concerned about the design of the routes for the receivers. They have too many slow developing routes and not enough quick slants and other quick routes to beat the blitz. Often there was either no short routes or the only short route available to Romo was a RB. I think Williams would be good on some quick routes, but when they do run those, they use Beasley. Maybe a big speed receiver would allow Williams or Dez to move into the slot more for some quick hitters.
Ronald Leary - Worst game this year. Gave up 2 sacks, and a few other pressures. Eagles were moving guys around to get on Leary. They clearly exploited a weakness. Not giving up on him, he has been good all year. Hopefully it was just an off game.
He was really good against JJ Watt but struggled against Philly. It's weird. He just lost his footing on a couple of plays and the defender had an easy path into the backfield. On a side note, it seems that the Cowboys have some issues with footing in home games.
Defensive Ends - I know Lawrence didn't get a ton of snaps, but he did NOTHING to impress again. Do not see the explosion or the ability to get off blocks on pass rush situations. Getting impatient waiting for him. Spencer and Mincey were constantly caught crashing inside on option plays. I give Mincey some credit for making a couple plays every game and fighting his tail off, but lets face it, he is adequate at best. I know playing against this fast pace offense is tough for the ends, but these last 2 games they have been terrible. If they don't start generating some pass rush, we are in trouble. Pathetic that our inside guys are the only ones generating pressure.
DLaw is a rookie and Mincey is playing too many snaps. Hayden either does not draw a double team or gets blown out if they do double him. This DL scheme is never going to function correctly if the 1-tech is not drawing double-teams, IMO. It leaves and extra blocker to help with the DEs or the 3-tech. They do need to add a quality DE in the off-season. Hopefully, Josh Brent can eventually fix the 1-tech problem.

JJ Wilcox - He is so frustrating. He plays with reckless abandon. He possess physicality, aggressiveness and speed that this defense sorely needs, but he has absolutely no discipline in the way he plays. Takes awful angles, does not know how to read keys, whiffs on lots of tackles because he is always looking for the big hit, and is rarely where he needs to be in coverage. He needs to be a special teams player, and an emergency safety at best.
He has been reasonably good in most games, but was terrible against the Eagles. Like some other players, I think he was trying to hard (pressing) and being overly aggressive.
