Well ...I wouldn't overlook the Giants so quickly my Cowboys opponent fan. Here's why ...

Eli Manning (QB)

Sinorice Moss (WR)

Hakeem Nicks (Rookie Threat ...possibly)

Brandon Jacobs (RB)

Jeff Feagles (K)
PT

While I wouldn't overlook the Giants, it's not because of any of the players on that list.

Seriously, where'd the Jeff Feagles love come from? Sinorice Moss?

Allow me to clarify my argument:

I never proposed that we abandon the pass. I'm merely suggesting more balance in the offensive play calling.

Our efforts to beat the Eagles through the air have produced spotty, inconsistent results -- loss, win, loss, win, loss. It might help if the Cowboys have more patience in establishing the run.

It's all in the pass protection. Protect and we win. A more sustained running game and creative blitz busting would go a long way towards making that happen. Look at those 4 games mentioned and it ties right back into how the OL played.

Pass protection is very important. However, it's very unlikely that any offensive line will have consistent success against a Jim Johson defense with all of his exotic blitzes -- especially when the run/pass ratio is so skewed towards pass.

Balance and patience with the run game are key, in my opinion.

Generally we end up playing Philly early then again in December.

In the 5 games against Philly, Romo has thrown 6TDs and committed 12 turnovers (ints+fumbles).

2008: 1st Game(W): 3TD-2turnovers; 2nd Game(L): 1TD-5turnovers
2007: 1st Game(W): 1TD-0turnovers; 2nd Game(L): 0TD-3turnovers
2006: 1st Game: DNP* 2nd Game(L): 1TD-2turnovers

Wins: 4TDs-2Turnovers; Losses: 2TDs-10turnovers

Simple solution for Tony: ball security almost always = wins. Granted he's not the only guy committing turnovers in these games, but guys like MBIII haven't gained a repuation as sloppy ball handlers either. If he can be smarter about taking care the ball either when he's scrambling or throwing, it will turn things around big time.

*Bledsoe had 0TD-5turnovers that game in 2006 and the game was a Loss.

The Class of the east may be a stretch for even this Eagles fan, but I'd say last years wasn't too shabby - with the exception of the tie and loss of the NFC Championship game to Arizona. Our last game against the Cowboys had to be a fluke ...44-6.

Do you feel that you have enough guns (minus T.O. and the other Roy Williams) to bounce back this coming season. The Giants look like to team to beat this year.

PT

Certainly a fluke...This same day I met one of my new cowboy friends...Such a nice guy, he told me he was Witten's body double for his cover shoots....

I dont see how anyone can overlook the Giants. or anyone in this division for that matter.

You forgot a healthy Osi by the way.

Their defense never skipped a beat even without Osi. It was amazing to see.

Didnt the Giants lose 4 out of their last 5. No Plax = doom.
