I agree with you man, but we certainly did that last year and I'm pretty sure if our QB didn't go down we would have this year. Can we not agree we would be with romo healthy? Just find it hard to blame a coach when you have a team built for one driver then had two new guys flailing at the wheel.

Fair point but even in the 3 games Tony was healthy, the team had issues. Giants had them beat in opener if Eli & Coughlin don't brain lock, the Eagles game was badly played on both sides and in Miami Tannehill just couldn't execute when he had plays open to him. So ya,know it's tough. I get it.

I don't understand. What's your question? Are you questioning why Laundry is on the list or what I'm referring to. In '89 when Jerry first took over the first thing he did was fire Tom Laundry and hire Jimmy Johnson. The reason why I put Laundry on this list of things I've forgiven him for is how he handled the Tom Laundry firing. Jerry was fairly disrespectful and handled that situation as an amateur. Tom Laundry was the face, heart and soul of the franchise for decades and he was kicked aside by Jerry. If I remember correctly Jerry didn't even interview him or anything. He met Laundry and in that conversation he fired him and that was it. Doesn't seem like a big deal now but at the time it was huge. Jerry disrespected an icon, or The Icon, of the Dallas Cowboys on his first couple days on the job.

Sadly he is still disrespecting the Dallas Cowboys with "his way". Jerry doesn't deserve to wear the same Star that Laundry wore.

You can't even spell the last name of that icon.Understand now?

Guys, on a happy note, the Cowboys are releasing new special edition shirts for black Friday. Get'em while they're hot!

Every team has issues. Yes we should have won some of those 7. Only thing that irks me is guys on this forum thinking they know the elixir and it's something "grass is greener". That's what gets you chip Kelly and the like.

Garrett is a leader of men. Guys respect him. I can get behind that because we sure as heck haven't had that from a lot of the guys we have run through here. I guess it all boils down to that for me. We can find x and O's guys but it's hard to find a leader. I think he is, as much as people make fun of that cardboard public persona he puts up, the players respect him.

So it was a very watered down simplistic coaching job.

We just overwhelmed teams with all our scary talent. The coaches just needed to get out of the way.

Yes, why is that so hard to believe? Garrett's old "line up and beat your man " approach just happened to work one year. It didn't work the other 4 years as a HC, and the other [however many] as an OC.

This is from the Philly game a few weeks ago, but it holds so much truth....

Send the memo to Jerry, because apparently he thinks going outside Garrett's offense would disrupt continuity, while firing Wade, then Rob, then going Kiffen while switching to a 4-3, followed by promoting Marinelli maintains continuity..

The problem with affirming Garrett's offense is a joke, would mean people accepting Wade was right, TO and Crayton were right, guys that we played against like the Ravens were right, Marshall Faulk was right and so many other guys people bashed for so long were right.. And they can't have that..

I believe JG is front office type material, maybe player personal in some capacity.

That being said.... We are a dysfunctional, mentally weak team under his leadership. Eventually penalties, bad in game decisions & a lack of creative game plan on offense has to be held accountable. Is it the play calling fault that interceptions happen? Not necessarily, but the plays by design are WEAK....that is plain truth.
Defensively we seems to show will, but again get schemed out.

I think all this.... From 1993 onward is all on Mr J

He created all this dysfunctional crap....... The blame sits squarely on him. He decisions just can't be acceptable in the WIN column

He can sell..... But for the life of him, he can't win

That approach worked lovely back in the days of Irvin, Harper, Novacek and Smith. Now not so much.

Norv Turner ran plenty of play action. His offenses were nothing like Garrett's.. Garrett has been consistently at the bottom in terms of play-action. This guy also use to not run the ball, until last year.

Norv ran multiple plays out if the same formation..

Garrett played one year under Norv and that too riding the pine. He didn't pick up much from Norv.

Don't insult one of the great OCs by comparing him to Jason..

You guys are funny. One ref rules differently and we might have won the SB last year. 31 teams you guys would call the coaches garbage every year because they can't get it done. We had a bad year. It happens. Not Garett's fault. Do you blame Parcells for Romos fumble? By the way, drafting is all random too, Jerry has just as much luck as the rest.
And one could argue if the DPI isn't overturned, then we never get to Green Bay

So then you must agree Wade who the division two of three years is better than Captain Clap?

I said it was the entire body of data not just wins. I pointed out in the thread that was not the end all. Read the thread.

Wade is better with D. Garrett O. Wade is not the coach I'd want as a HC although he's not terrible. I've not made my mind up with Garrett. He has the respect of his players and they never quit. They even like him. Talent has improved a good deal although he can't take all the credit for that not even the lion's share. I'm skeptical of either his scheme but more so the playcalling. I like the offense although they need a more horizontal game and at times shorter routes. It's to Zampese and Coryell at times. There's more but I like Garrett more than Wade as a HC. If I knew someone better I'd consider replacing him if he didn't give me the results I expected given the situation that will be 2016.

Do you have a good coach to replace him? I don't know all the coordinators in the league to answer that question myself.

Rebuild.
A 35 year old quarterback that gets seriously injured every year. No stud at running back. No reliable 2nd receiver. A great , yet old tight end. An over-rated offensive line.
An underachieving and highly paid defensive line. Linebackers that can't stay healthy. A horrible secondary (minus Scandrick who's getting up in years.)
Coaches who can't do their job.
This is a team in serious need of rebuilding and Jerruh won't live to see another playoff team.

I figure if Garrett was as good as some think, his teams wouldn''t be 0-8 without his starting QB over the last two seasons, hell no win without Romo since 2010.

Why are we the only team who can't win without the atsrting QB. I see other teams winning with 3rd stringers.

Garrett is the only coach in the league playing with a backup. Nevermind those teams winning with backup and the ones winning without having a good starter to begin with.

I am truly sorry to upset you so much. I don't quite understand the anger after I admitted that I made a mistake and laughed at myself. I don't understand why you have to be so condescending when we're all on the same team here.

Relax fellow cowboy fan. I'm not the enemy, we have plenty of enemies in other team's fans we don't need to be at each other's throats over a silly typo.

You know, I was just thinking -- Matt Cassel and the Cowboys should be able to beat the Commanders with Kirk Cousins.
