The week is about over and we have a game tomorrow! Wanted to see what you guys are looking for in this game.

1) How Petitti does with Rivera back
2) Passing offense
3) LB's & DB's cutting out the deep middle pass
4) Would like to see more of Burnett
5) Thompson and Pepper

I am looking for a lot of the same things as last week.

1) Yes Petitti. He looked much better last week, so I will be looking to see if he continues to look pretty good, and is still progressing.

2) O-Line as a whole. Opening running lanes, and protecting the QB.

3) Returners - They have done nothing so far, but once the regular season starts we have other options such as Newman, A. Glenn, Crayton, etc, but it would be nice to see some of these young guys show something.

4) Keith Davis - He showed up a little bit last week, but missed an assignment again. I just want to see solid play and a play or 2.

5) Front 7 making Carr's night a nightmare.

Posted this another thread... so I will post here as well..

As a Cowboys fan that lives in Houston,,, I have had a chance to watch some of the TEXANs pre-season fotball action..

Quick thoughts..

Don't think we have to worry at all about their RUN game.Their feature back Dominick Davis.. isn't fast ,, he is just elusive,, with our BIG LB's now,, they should be able to meet him head on with a seek & destroy mentality...

Houston will more than likely dump it off to him in the flat.. ALOT.. this might cause some concerns..

Their biggest offensive weapon is.. Andre Johnson.. Big, fast, physical...not sure but I think he is about 6'2" 210 ( runs about a 4.3 - 4.4 ).. A. Glen should give plenty of info on his weakness to T.New or A.Henry..

To keep D. Carr upright,, Houston will probably do alot 3 - 5 step drops to get the ball oout.. Also,, since they run a base 3-4 defense ,, Houston's offense will be used to the 3-4 look our D presents...

As for as the BOY's on offense.. Gotta get the run game going .. J.Jones will be the best back on the field ,,and the O-line needs to give him some room to RUN..

Protect Bledsoe,,Houston has a big/ fast physical OLB.. named A. Peek .. that we need to keep in check. He will be going against Flozell.. So ,,I know he can't overpower him,, but he will try to out quick him..

Houston is currently starting a rookie a SS ,, so look for Witten to have a big day or to be double teamed.. which if double teamed,, someone else will get single coverage.

As far a our D... I would love for WARE to have another monster game,, but I think Houston will give him plenty of attention.. Leaving the door open for someone on the D. Line to have a big game.. ( Houston's Oline is shaky at best,,

I am not sure how much game planning will be done. (I hear very little) so I think both teams just want to stay healthy but look for the younger guys to develop...
I think it will be interesting to see how our C's fare vs the 3-4 lineup as thats what were facing alot of the first part of the year...

I like Gurode vs this type of D!
Thompson should see plenty of action...
I want return men to fix their roles on the team...
I want other weapons on D to show up:
James, Burnett, Fowler, Thornton...

Thanks for the detailed observation I have not followed Houston at all so this was a big help!

I want to see more of Beriot(sorry if I mispelled), the guy can play, the other RB who looked good the week before but didn't get off the sideline last week, Drew Bledsoe its about time to light the fires and kick the tires, I know you still got the juice!!

appreciate the inside scoop on the Texans. its hard to say how much 3-4 we will play, but its safe to say as much as we're able to, i think. what i'd like to see is:

1. stop the run. it all starts there.

2. disrupt the passing game. we should have a few more blitzes to unveil this week, and actually we had decent success against the Hawks. either a couple sacks or a couple INTs or both.

3. Drew hooking up with Keyshawn. i don't think they have enough chemistry to take advantage of Key's abilities, and while finding Glenn is nice Bledsoe can't ignore the other side. he's got some rapport with Witten and Glenn, but so far i haven't seen enough of Keyshawn, and he probably doesn't like it any more than i do...

I want to see everyone do well ... but most importantly, the offensive line ... that has become a question mark in my mind.

This a good thread but just the title irritates a bit and reads like:

Freddy vs Jason
Alien vs predator

...LMAO :)
