I know a lot of you wont like this but they have spent a huge amount of time with this guy pre draft.

I would take Petty over freaking Weeden any day of the week and twice on Sunday.....................dude is legit.

If he had to start a game or two for Romo, it would not be an automatic loss like it is right now.

If Dustin Vaughn is ready to back up Romo this is a prudent pick.
With all the needs this team has nothing is as important as the
QB or when s QB retires or injured who is the guy to take over.
This probably takes a third round pick to get him and that hurts
. If the staff thinks his the guy well, OK.

He's just such a projection. I mean, all college prospects are but Petty even more than usual with the offense he played in.

The thought of taking a guy so under developed for the pro game and then handing him off to Wade Wilson scares me.

I think he'll go 2nd round at worst. I'm not convinced a team won't reach for a 3rd QB in the 1st round. Some team trading back into the round.

I dont think he has leap frogged Hundley. He could have, Petty has been rising and Hundley dropping but Hundley still seems to be the #3.

Im glad we are looking at Petty and not Hundley. I was a big Hundley supporter before the season. Great physical tools, great leader, great kid but he just doesnt have what it takes upstairs to be more then Josh Freeman. Petty needs more coaching, not as talented physically but he has the mental makeup of a very good NFL QB

I like Petty.

Am good with drafting him.

Part of me is worried, however, that there are some good ol' boy connections in Jerry's ear with this one

It's a certainty, doesnt Briles daughter work for the Cowboys?

I rather take Grayson from Colorado St. Played in pro style offense. Was forced to read defenses and adjust accordingly.

And I remember a story before the last season of some connection between Jerry, Briles and I think the Lacewell clique as well

I actually like Petty but, he won't be there when we pick round 2. Buffalo is going to snatch him.

Grayson has leap-frogged Petty on a few boards lately.
