Romo is a major tease. Yeah he played better towards the end and just when you want to start believing again, Washington happens. Something always happens.

Romo has to be one of the most frustrating players to watch.

FYI. There are other QB's that you can go watch...but, most of them are worse than Romo.

TEAM! Get it, girl?

Well...in the six seasons that he was the team's primary starter, the Cowboys have made the playoffs 3 times and have never had a losing season. 4 winning seasons and 2 .500 seasos.
He has one of the better won-loss records as a QB in the league and the team has made the playoffs half the time he has started.

I'm sure you'll come back and re-up your criteria...but just saying.

And the big picture is he still has 1 playoff win and the team has not been in the playoffs in 3 years. All stuff you are talking about won't mean anything once his career is over.

I gotta say...it took a lot longer for this to turn into a Romo bashing thread than I thought. :laugh2:

The defense had nothing to do with the losses, huh? The kicker, what about him?

What about the Coach? He did a great job, huh?

What about the injuries on both sides of the ball? Romo caused all that, huh?

You know, girl, you are right! Romo does not deserve to be a Cowboy. Like you, I hope he leaves to another team. After all, he is an undrafted QB bum that has set almost every QB record for the Cowboys while playing on bad team after bad team after bad team.

What was Roger and Aikman talking about when they praise that bum?

I'm with you from now on.

Romo...GET OUT OF TOWN...NOW! YOU SUCK!!

So Romo shouldn't be held accountable for nothing huh?

@fishsports: Source tells me A. Spencer today told #Cowboys he's 'willing ASAP' to start on forging long-term deal to cut $10.6M cap impact in half.

Isnt it just facinating how coddled Tony Romo is. You would think they gave birth to him or something. Not just the fans either. Jerry Jones coddles him, Garrett coddles him. Romo walks around knowing he will never be accountable for anything.

Actually, when I come to think about it...every game that the Cowboys have lost is because of Romo!

And...if i remember right, every game that the Cowboys won, Romo had no game in those wins. Carr won an important play to get to the playoff.

And when I remember him fumbling that snap for a field goal? I knew right there that Romo was a bum...from the get go!

Romo would have to wait until the last minutes to try and win 8 games with this team. He does need to go find another team, trade him, then see what this team looks like.

Let Romo go play golf, play soccer, basketball...get out of town and go to Cabo where he belongs! He already has Jerry's money anyway.

yup, that's right. he gets a free pass from everyone at VR. :bang2:

There are multiple people who are responsible for this lack of success the past 15 years or so. Coaches, players, Owner/GM, scouts, etc.

This is the big truth. The assumption is we would be signing all kinds of FAs if we just had the cap room. Maybe just maybe the reason we have only done just enough to get under the cap is because there is no one we want value wise at this time. If there is at some point this off season watch how fast we find "room" under the cap. I know it's popular to portray the front office as a blind squirrel trying to find a nut but that just isn't reality. They do have some idea what they are doing.
:lmao2:man Stephen Jones really has some of you bamboozled.

I agree
Romo should be held accountable, just like every other player.
He certainly holds himself accountable.

But what exactly does anyone mean by "accountable". Fire him when he screws up, makes a bad play, or has a bad game? This isn't Brady Quinn. Romo is really good at playing the position.

Last year started how pretty sad for several reasons, but then Romo played at as high a level as any player in the league for about 5-6 game stretch.
Then the ugly Washington game where the whole team sucked, including Romo.
Do we fire him for that?

You people come off as so tough as if the guy isn't taking a beating every week and giving his best effort--maybe breaking a bone here or there for good measure....then you make like it's a day at the beach. Or like he skipped school or something.

The guy is leaving a kidney out there every week and you all are sitting at your PC like your someone tough, wanting his head whenever he makes a mistake.

Sure, accountability is good. But there has to be perspective.

Might be fan ignorance on my part but, I would assume that Romo and the team both would want to get the deal done because of the importance of the cap implications. If he wants the OL fixed and a better product he sure could help his own cause by working out a deal.

Does not matter who is back there under center. Cowboys need to fix the O-line... and will.

Ill say this much, if Romo isn't extended and is allowed to test free agency next offseason the romo era is done in Dallas. Some team will pay him what we can't.

We could franchise him for the next 2 years if we wanted to so anyone who signs him ends up forking over tons of picks

In 3 years Romo is done anyways and we're not going to get him that much cheaper then his franchise numbers anyways unless we commit to him way beyond his prime which IMO is pointless

We can't do that. His 3 option years that he can void, along with the top 5 salaries, at the position (which are getting ready to go way up) would cripple our cap. We would be talking about a number well over 20 million a year.
