That's the funny thing. We won't even know after Week 1.
How many were saying this team was in for a 1-15 season after Week 1 last year?

That's my problem with it. Maybe they know more than we do (an obvious statement), but unless his play picks up considerably, this is hugely over paying. He wasn't a top 15 player at his position in 2014.

If he wasn't then he was close. Outside of Fletcher Cox, he is the best interior lineman in the NFCE. Suh, Poe, McCoy, Dareus, Atkins, Williams, Watt, Campbell, Donald, and maybe Richardson are better. I put him below those guys but just below them.

Can see why Crawford signed- if money is truly not that important he now has enough to live comfortably the rest of his life if it is handled sensibly.
Cowboys certainly are gambling but it looks like a reasonable one and you have to gamble to get anywhere in the NFL.

Theres no way Crawford could have turned down this deal. He wouldn't have been paid this much if he'd been an unrestricted free agent back in the 2014 offseason.

Hatcher should be considered an interior defensive lineman for purposes of that discussion, and I'd take Hatcher but for the age. But I wouldn't have paid Hatcher this kind of money at any point in his career.

That's a good perspective to fit the situation in. Although T Craw is younger, respectively I believe.
