Yes, and the Dez video also had legs and people were getting information about it from within the organization.

This is three days old, posted the night of the first round. Cris Carter had as much "inside information" as a blind hobo does. Seriously, people need to quit buying click bait. And that is all this stuff is.

Outside of the turd no one reported it and the video was never seen. We have no idea who claimed to have the video nor what the video showed.

Chris Carter was a HoF receiver for the Vikings saying he spoke to people in the organization.

At least compare apples to apples. Blind hobos and anonymous extortion attempts aren't even fruit.

I am too lazy to look it up, but I am almost positive that Carter eluded to the fact that something was going to happen over the draft weekend. Maybe a team or two did try to get him, IDK. What I do know is that I will not get my hopes up any longer and resign to the fact that we won't have a bell-cow in 2015. That could change but again, I am not banking on that anymore :(

This whole approach by Spielman is laughable. What an awful way to run your franchise. AP's contract is an absolute albatross for the next 3 years.

Does he honestly in his heart of hearts believe that even IF AP played that they would have a shot at anything this year?

So they are going to pay him 30 mil in 2016 and 2017? Ok...ya sure. You know what's going to happen? theyre going to have to end up cutting him anyways. They would have to be absolute idiots to not get anything for him now and get that god awful contract off their books.

This is all a personal emotional ploy by Spielman. Any competent GM would'nt pay that kind of salary over the next 3 years to a RB that will be 31 and 32 years old. Especially a lower to middle type team like the Vikings who won't do much competing for awhile.

I'd say it's a 50/50 chance right now, but the fact that we did not draft a running back is a very key piece to all of this, no matter what the Cowboys' statement is.

He still wants to play here, and we have a few pieces we can offer to help them out.

We are loaded on the DLine and LB, and we could still offer a high draft pick like a 2 or a 3.

He's worth it. Plain and simple.

No matter what your statement is, plain and simple.

I can't remember the last time there were so many trade rumors surrounding a certain player and the player didn't end up getting traded. Peterson made it clear that he doesn't want to be in Minnesota. I doubt AP and his agent just tuck their tails between their legs and go with whatever Vikings management wants. And I know this doesn't really mean anything... but during the press conference following the last day of the draft, when Jerry and company were being questioned about not drafting a RB, it seemed like they were hinting at trading for AP is still a possibility. It may be tomorrow, it may be in 2 months, but I still think something happens.

They just said other options may become available. Could mean anything. The release of veteran backs, etc. Not just AP, but anyone.

Put your self into the Spielmans shoes as a GM. You are looking at your team and see that you have an aging RB that will make 45 mil over the next 3 years.

You know realistically that you arn't competing for much this year or next. Now you have an opportunity to get that contract off the books and have little to no cap hit because of it if you are able to trade him. Ok, so you keep him instead....well now you are going to be forced to cut him next year because of the cap damage he's doing to the roster.

You trade him now and get full value. Wipe your books and allocate that money to expiring rookie deals or other positions to fill out your lackluster roster.

Vikings GM said he thinks they can compete for a playoff spot with Peterson. Reason enough to keep him.

Well of course he's going to say that. What's he going to pitch his fans?

Right now, the Vikings are $11 million under the 2015 cap and let's say after paying rookies and make emergency moves due to injury, they keep $7 million in cap space. That $7 million carries over into next year, where they already have $20 million in cap space, so based on a numbers stand point, they really don't need to release him. And yes, they do appear like they won't be competing for much, but the NFL changes so much from year to year. Most of us didn't see 12-4 coming for us last year and most people didn't predict how good Arizona would be prior to losing 2 QBs. To suggest that they should feel motivated to move AD, based on them not being in a position to compete makes no sense. If they do it, it will be because they tire of his distraction.

I know. Hard to understand why they would want Peterson. Let's see. Keep Peterson...compete for playoffs. Release Peterson, no competition for playoffs.

no thanks. Want no part of his hefty contract. DeMarco could've been had at around half the price and I wasn't for that either. I think we'll be pleasantly surprised on the performance from our stable of RBs. And btw, don't agree we're loaded at LB & DL.

I'm confused. Murray got what? $18 mil guaranteed and escalator bonuses.

How is that less than potential to get AD?

What's the cap hit if they let him go?

If 2 or 3 of our RB's have season ending injuries in training camp, then yes, it's a possibility AP comes here.
