Kevin Acee, of the San Diego Union-Tribune, reports San Diego Chargers CB Antonio Cromartie could soon be traded to the Detroit Lions. No deal has been finalized, but it appears Cromartie has played his last game as a Charger.

Antonio Cromartie-DB- Chargers Feb. 28 - 4:17 pm et

Chargers beat writer Kevin Acee reports that he's heard Combine buzz that Antonio Cromartie could be shipped to the Lions "soon."

San Diego had been looking for a running back in return, but the Lions don't have a good one to offer. Thus, he's likely to command a mid-round draft pick as compensation. The fit in Detroit is good because DC Gunther Cunningham uses lots of press coverage, an area in which Cromartie can excel. He doesn't tackle well enough to succeed in heavy zone systems.

In any case, it looks like the Chargers definitely want Cromartie out of there. Looks like they are trying to get something, anything for him.

I hope it happens so the Cromartie rumors will die on this site.

That sucks for him.

No worries.

I'm sure there are a lot of horny women in Detroit.

Football is just a hobby to him.

Maybe if he could tackle, didnt have a sour attitude and hadnt slumped badly as a cover guy, he'd get to stay in SD.

They dont want him. There's no reason to fill sorry for him when its all his own fault.

Not me. Somewhere like Detroit is what he deserves after the way he laid down on his team with their season on the line vs. the Jets.
