Mark Cuban doesn’t pretend to be an NFL expert but the Mavs owner follows the cross-town Cowboys and has some advice for Cowboys owner Jerry Jones: Keep his coach in place. "I think Jerry would be quite crazy to fire Jason Garrett,” Cuban said. 'The hardest thing to do in professional sports is hiring (the right) head coach.'

He makes some good points. I'm expecting a good performance Sunday night (even in a loss) and provided that expectation is met, I'll be fine on keeping Garrett for another season. There is no coach out there that is worth the risk - yet.

Sorry, his points are utterly stupid. They went 41-41 because Cuban was cleaning up the roster for making moves for big free agent signings. That's why they didn't make a play for guys like Chandler, that were instrumental in their wins. In fact, they have one of the best coaches in the game and the fact that they got to that record, when Dirk was hurt the season missing games and never fully himself is what is impressive. Additionally NBA is about getting that big free agent signing of which football is nothing like. It's a more star driven game then football.

And again, the article simply points out the contradiction. Cuban fired two coaches that had them in the playoffs. And that too with players like Nash as well. He can say what he is saying now with Adelman, but it means nothing in respect to reality.

Additionally, he says it coming off a Championship win and knows what adelman can do. Garrett's been failing miserably.

Dumb article..

At least he qualifies his comments more than once with the fact that he does not know football ...or at least not remotely like he does basketball.

He makes good points, but only addresses part of the equation

If defensive players are saying he hasn't lost the locker room, that gives me hope, because most likely, he's lost the locker room.. To be honest though, Garrett isn't going to lose the locker room when the players realize they still can qualify with a win. They are too busy thinking about that then anything.

To see if they lose the locker room, you'd have to see their reaction if they are losing badly.

Cuban obviously either does not know football or just wants to make the Mavericks look better or more than likely a little of both.

Well there you go, he and Jerry are on the same page, neither if them knows football enough to run a team

sure, he probably makes good money betting against us, if i had a cash cow would you think id get rid of it?

We're eight and seven against the spread. I don't have a great impression of the guy but he's made a lot of money.

Ironic considering Garrett is the ginger Avery Johnson.

And that what Jerry needs to do is find his Rick Carlisle.

Avery Johnson coached them to the NBA finals. He was too hard on players which is why he fell out of touch with them. I'd love to find a Avery Johnson in the NFL.

Actually mistake.. He had Dirk.. Kidd returned the year after he was fired. That roster was stacked though with depth. He was horrendous with New Jersey and Brooklyn, average.

Brooklyn sucks as you can see they are the worst team in the league right now and did far better with Avery. And who had 3 HOF talents? Avery? Dirk and who are the other 2?
