Actually mistake.. He had Dirk.. Kidd returned the year after he was fired. That roster was stacked though with depth. He was horrendous with New Jersey and Brooklyn, average.

LOL His squad was terrible. Avery's biggset downfall is he coached the Mavs like they were the Spurs team he played for. The Mavs didn't have the point guard or center to do that and still got to the Finals. Devin Harris looked like a legit All Star in this league in that playoff stretch as did Desagna Diop. Can you imagine having Tyson Chandler instead of Desagna Diop?

Yeah, he just had what, three HOF talents. how did he do in Brooklyn?

Who are these 3 HOF talents you speak of besides Dirk?
I think your referring to the 2011 Mavs with Kidd, Dirk, and Marion (maybe)?

Although I disagree....

I really like Cuban....his attitude, the person he is....and, you cant really argue his success.....he has proven it. Yeah he has failed. But there have been too many successes in his life not to give him credit.

What's scary is Jerry might actually take Cubans advice and we'd be just as mediocre again.

How much control does Garret really have? After two years of 8-8, Jerry stepped in and now it's a mess especially on the defensive side on the ball. We actually get some kind of running game only to be scrapped in favor of passing. Now your million dollar QB is injured and your new element of surprise attack is now crap because the defense will be looking for it now. Good Luck Garret your gonna need it.

Sorry, his points are utterly stupid. They went 41-41 because Cuban was cleaning up the roster for making moves for big free agent signings
Garrett has been cleaning our roster to. It is not the same 8-8 roster that we had when he started. When you consider the decimation of our defensive line and the number of rookies, and street guys we have been playing all year, we are fortunate to be in this win or go home game. Our starting tackle Nick Hayden was our 5th tackle , who beat out lissenmore for that spot for petesake. He got rid of the paycheck collectors and it made us fragile depth wise. Short term bad, long term good. Do you really want a guy like newman who openly said he didn't want to hit Brandon Jacobs or the other giant rb teaching your young guys how to play? Garrett torcs my jaws as much as anyone, but what he has done well is changing the culture and environment to a successful one. If Dallas fires him I wont lose any sleep, but I can understand why he could be kept another year. If dallas beats philly this sunday that is a credit to Garrett , especially with all the challenges this team has faced. My issue is, because the mediots hate the cowboys, and Dallas means ratings, every mistake that is made is amplified 100 times over. Our defense is historically bad and that makes every mistake our offense makes amplified also. I pray that dallas beats Philly, so all the mediots who are laughing and singing "ding dong the witch is dead" will have to eat their words.
Pretty much my exact take on Jason Garrett.
Imo the Cowboys being mediocre only draws interest to his Mavs team. I think a few years ago Cuban was mad a JJ and the NFL because the playoff game and the Mavs game were occurring at the same time. He's always going to be second fiddle in Dallas even when the Cowboys are mediocre and when the are good? Forget about it.

Do you really think that Cuban has any interest in the Cowboys rising to prominence heck no, that would be bad for his business.

So Mark Cuban wants JG to remain as the HC of the Cowboys because he think that him being the coach will keep them mediocre.

Pretty much your take on Garrett, huh.

one thing Cuban and Jones have in common is that they love to be seen and heard and another thing is that neither of them is a football guy...

It will be interesting to see what people think after this team gets smoked - Romo or no Romo - on Sunday Night en route to yet another disappointing 8-8 season, yet another prime time embarrassment, and yet another win-and-you're-in loss?

Only a sucker would buy in to what Jerry Jones is trying to sell you after that.

A fool and his money...

Do yourself a favor. Don't tune in since you already know the outcome. We all know the Cowboys are quite flawed and there isn't a damn thing we can do about it. I choose to root for the team I love instead of dwelling on negative things that haven't even happened yet. If the Cowboys lose, I will be on here critiquing the failure just like everyone else, but I refuse to ***** and moan before they even take the field. I'm hoping for the best without the doom and gloom sky is falling mantra. Sue me.

Go for it.

It's a free country.

But I've got reality supporting my position.

I've seen this movie many times before.

If you want to be mad about something, be mad at the idiots who put you through this wringer of disappointment, not those who dare bring it up.

What traits are important in deciding to retain a coach, even if the record disappoints? Or to judge what makes a “good coach’’?
Said Cuban: “Knowledge of the game. Respect of the players. And ability to adjust and learn.''

I do not question Garrett knows the game, or at least talks like he does. I think the players respect him.

But the ability to adjust and learn? He is still making the same mistakes now that he has in the past.

I think Ginger Clap fails in the "ability to adjust and learn" category.

Yea, I kinda stop reading when I got to that point.............................whoever wrote this article clearly has not been watching Garrett these last couple of seasons.

If Garrett adjust and learn............we would not have had a repeat of the Detroit 2011 game.................same situation, we had a huge lead and went pass happy and a couple of turnovers later we lost.........exact same thing played out this year with Green Bay.

"Adjust and learn" my arse.............................LOL

If we get smoked, with or without Romo, its going to be a hard sell for Jerry to tell the fans Garrett is coming back for another season.............but I think he will say it regardless.

Like another poster said, there are a couple of scapegoats in the yard before Jerry gets to the sacred cow in the barn.

Well written. I do disagree with one point:
I'd rather the mediots eat something else if Dallas wins.

.......Missing out on Dan Reeves as a "advisor" was a big loss a few years ago. I think he could've implemented a scheme and purpose into Garretts scattergun approach to an offenseive system.......

And it will then be the right of each individual to choose whether they want to continue to pay for this, or not.

I've already made mine and hope that others will follow.

I feel the only way to get change is to show in the clearest way that what we are getting is unacceptable.
