ESPN reported Raiders signed Can we get details

Egads!

I bet he will really like playing behind that guy LaRussell or whatever his name is, from LSU. Or playing several games while the rook is prepped.

However, the new coach probably just wants a backup, cause he and old man Davis, in their stupidity, will probably want to start the rookie right away:D

Al Davis is certifiable...

I am a fan of LSU (among others) but I couldn't understand his hype. He had a few good games last year, but he was terrible in others. I am afraid he will be an NFL bust...

The Raiders should have taken Calvin Johnson...

If true, I think this is great news. The way I see it, the Raiders were the biggest competition for the worst record to the Browns. W/ Culpepper (assuming he's healthy and starts), I think they are more likely to win an extra game or two.

Couple this w/ the mess at the QB situation in Cleveland and I think our chances at the #1 overall pick has greatly improved.

I'm also hoping JJ and Barber shows enough this season where we don't feel necessary to draft McFadden #1. Instead I'd rather trade the 1st overall and accumulate picks.

Russell has greater upside since he is a QB but Johnson was the safer pick I dont think Russell will add nore to the Raiders since they are so down right now Johnson would probably have been nore valuable right away

I agree. I think the Raiders blew it big time.

Actually I don't believe Browns really plan using Quinn this year. So while you never want a rookie to miss TC, their season isn't going down the toilet cause he's not there. OTOH, the Browns will also probably win a couple of games so we probably don't get the #1 overall pick which also probably means we don't get first crack at McFadden. Unless Jerry dumb enough to trade our entire draft for him but hoping that's not the case since we desperately need add a top CB, etc.

We don't need to accumulate picks. We're gonna be cutting good players as it is this year.

We need difference makers.

Maybe not greatly improved, but it certainly can't be any worse.

We've done enough dropping down in the draft; time for spectacularity. :D
