Watching Colin Cowherd and he feels Dallas has the hardest path to the super bowl ever for this four reasons. The teams and QBs were likely to face, Green Bay (Rogers); Atlanta (Ryan); New England (Brady).

1. The culture winning culture of Greenbay and New England are real but can and have been beaten down before. What winning culture does Atlanta have? Personally I'd rather face Green Bay than NY again and Atlanta I feel can be beat handily. New England is the Super Bowl so lets just get there first.

2. Coaching: The area I think is the biggest Achilles heel, Garrett will be out coached by all three, his resume doesn't read like these disciples of Bellicheck he will be facing. Garrett has a tendency to out smart himself and not gameplan for the teams they're playing, which doesn't give his team the best chance to win.
Offensively and defensively they hopefully they remember a little of what they did in Detroit and open up the play book and try a little 3-2 defense. Loves it.

3. QB: They don't think Dakota can win against these teams, he can but once again the coaches need to do their jobs and put him in position to do so.

4. Last but not least they think Green Bay and Rogers are the hottest team in the NFC and NE in the AFC and Dallas coaching and players unable to match the intensity. Dallas is just as hot IMO and peaking in their last game they cares about.

Personally I'm happy everyone is discounting these four areas, ala 1991-1992, too young, culture not ready, coaching and hotter teams, The Triplets shocked the world.

He's been against Dak since the first preseason game, just like once upon a time he was against Tony Romo. I remember this dude trashing Romo because he wasn't like John Elway.

Cowboys winning culture starts in 2016. With the talent currently on the team and the improved drafting we've seen from the club I don't see that changing.

The QB is already excellent and where we don't know where his ceiling is.

I agree to a certain extent JG will likely never be anything other than an average NFL coach, however, plenty of average NFL coaches have won Superbowls.

He shouldn't automatically assume that the Lions and Giants are losing!

Or that KC doesn't have a shot in the AFC. I was one who thought that NE wouldn't get there without Gronk, but their defense has surprised me w how good they've played.

I'll still stick w NE not making it to the SB. Mr. Herd is about the find out its about the "best team" and not the "best qb".

Aaron Rodgers has been great but lets be real: his only SB appearance and win was the easiest road ever.

Soft Atlanta team that couldn't stop anybody
Jay Cutler who didn't try to gut out the second half when he got a knee injury
There was no team in AFC that could win it that year(same thing in 2011) so what came out of the AFC that year was the equivalent of the '96 Cowboys or '96 49er's. A once great team that was past its peak.

Rodgers in proper perspective. He choked his guts out in that second half vs Seattle in 2014. Bring his PA on!

Everybody has an opinion. Not particularly concerned with any of those teams or coaches having an advantage over Dallas until and unless we get to New England. Until then, the road to the NFC runs through Dallas. First they have to get here, then they have to beat us. If they do, more power to them. If they can't, we're going to be talking about the winning tradition in Dallas for the next few years.

On a side note, it's been fun watching public opinion on Jason Garrett gradually turn again with the winning season.

Huh can't match intensity? What was that against the Bucs and the Lions? This last game was a nothing game. This is all wrong and so far off base I don't even know how you respond

Maybe so. But he raises some very good points.

You know it's better going into these playoffs as an underdog ( underdog as a #1 seed lol). We need to play with a chip on our shoulder. Nobody thought we'd be 13-3 at the beginning of the year either.

No, it's not. We're moving into the playoffs now. Not saying we can't get to the Super Bowl, but the intensity level increases x5 and Eli, Rodgers, Stafford, Wilson and Ryan all have playoff experience. Dak does not.

I'm interested in seeing how he'll do. But let's not act as if Herd's factors are baseless. They're not.

Could you post them?

They're contained in the first post. Herd said what the Cowboys have against them is:
1. Teams with a culture of getting to the Super Bowl in this era.
2. Quarterbacks who have either played in the playoffs (Ryan) or won Super Bowls (Eli, Rodgers, Brady).
3. Two of the best coaches in the game in McCarthy, Belichick

Those are legitimate points. That doesn't mean we can't overcome them, but they are most reasonable.

Speaking of culture, John Lynch was on Undisputed saying that he spoke to the team and came away from the Cowboys very impressed with their mindset. Their attitude seemed to him like a championship team.:flagwave:

He lost me when he said McCarthy is one of the best coaches in the game. He's done nothing much since his one SB win and having the greatest QB in the history of mankind.

He said players not player. How can Dallas not match intensity? Think about it they went 13-3 I don't think they will have any issues matching intensity. Dak is cool as a cucumber and I don't think you'll see some over the top intensity out of him.
