Dez, Williams, and Mayle are all the same height and Dez and Mayle roughly the same weight. Mayle looks like a bigger Williams than like Dez to me.

Does an injury settlement include continuous access medical care and physical therapy in addition to cash?

Do fired players qualify for unemployment benefits?

The injury settlement is a negotiation. If they require surgery or something like that, it can be part of the negotiation. I think the settlement is straight cash with no specifics for whether it is used on medical care or not.

I have no idea on unemployment. It seems logical that they would be eligible.

Injured players that are waived automatically revert to IR until they receive an injury settlement. I have not seen an injury settlement announced for Whaley but I assume that he received one.

I didn't see it either. But he must have received a settlement as he's not on the roster.

Mayle said he modeled his game after Josh Gordon, I can see the similarity. Williams plays more like Gordon than Dez too.

There have been some occasions where those guys seemed to dissappear and then later im the season I would see a report that the player had just received a settlement.

Mayle's nick name was Little Lebron when he played basketball. And played at 240 lbs. He trimmed down to 225 to play WR. But his coach at Sierra College recruited him to play football but wasn't sure where to play him at first, considered LB, S, DE, TE and RB before settling on WR.

Makes 9 on squad so far.

As expected, the team officially announced running back
Gus Johnson (Stephen F. Austin) and quarterback
Kellen Moore (Boise State) would be part of the squad. They also signed wide receivers
Vince Mayle (Washington State) and
Rodney Smith (Florida State), as well as linebacker
Joe Thomas (South Carolina State).

A torn achilles is a year long injury. He would be on the IR for the year.

A settlement wouldn't benefit him unless he thought he could play again this year.

He probably had a split contract that would have to be paid in full. I have seen him on the IR/roster at Spotrac. We also have his rights for 2016.

X should love Rodney Smith. Kid is over 6'5 and ran 4.4 40. Reminds me of his pet cat Waller. Possible TE if he can get his weight up, currently 225. Joe Thomas is another run and hit LB that Marinelli loves. Has a slow 40, but nice 10.

Rodney Smith didn't even play in the league this offseason, did he?

Yes, it is really impressive he is tall, but this is an odd add to a practice squad.

They should be on a reserve list of some kind

He's a project. Best to stash these kind of players is on PS. We know Garrett wll churn PS as often as he does the bottom 53. You can't teach height or speed.

Thomas is 6-1, 227#. Had 4.7 40 at pro day, with 22 BP reps, 38" vert., and 4.64 shuttle.
History of playing the run tough, and hitting hard. Had 116 tackles, 20 TFL, 7.5 sacks, and 1 pick for the S. Carolina St. #1 FCS run defense in 2013.

Probably has best shot on ST.
