Right now we are projected to have a 49% chance of no playoffs with AZ at 22% and DET at 44%. Strange bedfellows huh?! The Eagles have a 53% chance of no playoffs. We have a 11% chance of winning our division. Of course these odds can change dramatically early in the season. But I'd say right now I like those odds fairly well. We are the number three team in our conference odds wise.

Quite a surprise, huh?

too early to be happy about or get worked up about it. But 11% chance to win the division seems incredibly low.

From My Personal Viewpoint from watching the games, Right now I rank the NFC teams

Seattle
Det and Arizona tied at #2
Dallas

And i think Dallas would beat both det and ari if game played in Dallas.

AND - I think we have a better upside as we get healthier on defense and add some players.

Who makes these numbers up? 11% chance of winning our division? Who these people think we are? The Commanders?

That is my thought too. So long as new injuries dont pop up.

Looking ahead a little bit - That showdown in Seattle may be a real slugfest where both teams get banged up a bit. I have a feeling the cowboys are going to want to prove they are a physical team against seattle.

Its based on a whole boatload of statistics and not at all who they think could win, so right now mathematically no one has a high% to win the division - that will change as more games are played.

I'd bet.

This game against the Texans is big....................since the playoff expansion, approximately 80% of the teams that have started the season 4-1 qualified for the playoffs.

In other words, you really have to tank hard to miss the playoffs if you start 4-1.

Teams that are 3-1 and win there next game make the playoffs 77% of the time.

Teams that are 3-1 and fall to 3-2 make the playoffs 50% of the time.

So yes this game is important and a win makes not making the playoffs hard to do....but its doable.

That's about right as any of four teams could win it and there are many other possibilities to factor in. Four teams finishing in order 1-4 makes for enough permutations to see those odds. The fact we have the best odds in the East are encouraging but the odds can change drastically with a win or two and a loss or two. Too early to make a lot of it. But OTOH, teams that are 1-3 make the playoffs roughly 10% of the time. We are looking good right now but don't make any permanent plans yet. IMO.

That's not what it says. The columns are playoff seeds. To get the odds of winning the division, you have to add the first 4 columns (the top 4 seeds are the division winners). They're saying we have a 37% chance of winning the division. The Eagles are at 34%, the Giants at 25%, and the Skins at 4%.

We have an 11% chance of being the #1 seed in the NFC, according to their projections.

You're correct. I misread the chart.

It should add to 100 percent. Or else their model is kind of fubar.
