Current record of Cowboys remaining opponents

How could the Cowboys be bottom feeding when they are the team that many considered the worse.?
Dallas was bad, but anyone watching football knew they were not the absolute worst. The Giants and Jets are another tier of bad. They are two franchises where QBs, coaches, and GMs go to die.

And they almost beat the Eagles and Packers. Funny, you failed to mention that. Your agenda is blinding you.
No, your agenda blinds you to any point anyone makes that you think is bad-mouthing the Cowboys. All I said is Dallas is 2-2-1, Parcells said you are what your record says you are and the team's record shows they should beat the teams with a worse record than them (which is five). That's simple.

If you want to complicate it based on "almost beat," then you need to do that for every team on the schedule. Break it down loss by loss to show why Dallas should be considered better than them at this point.

As I said, the team will probably beat some teams with a better record than it has and lose to some with a worse record than it has. There's no agenda in that. If the team is what it's record says it is, then we can count on five more wins. We'll see if the team is better than that.

I almost didn't respond to this thread you created because your disdain for anyone who doesn't praise the team to your satisfaction is frustrating. I tried to have a civil discourse with you, but you just revert to the same accusations that define who you are as a member of this board. Enjoy your thread. I'll go talk to some Cowboys fans who enjoy talking about their team without being offended when someone doesn't agree with them.

Well said.

Ummm what ever website you got this from you need to stop using. The Lions are 4-1. The Vikings and Chargers are both 3-2.
I didn't even notice it was inaccurate. We've got our work cut out for us. Many of these teams have shown that they are not unbeatable, but so far we've only beat losing teams.

Agree to disagree

Ok…Dallas appears to have a legit offense and that is great; but the old adage is defense wins championships, of which Dallas has a bad one. What great QBs have the Cowboys faced? They couldn’t beat a flat Jalen Hurts; a washed up Russell Wilson, who had a career game; or Caleb Williams who aired it out as well. Dallas has yet to play against Herbert, Mahomes, Goff, Nix or Daniel’s; all of whom are going to stress the defense more than any of the previous opponents played thus far. It is a huge ask to have the Cowboys offense to put up 30-40 points a game to compensate for poor defensive showings. While I appreciate the enthusiasm, let’s temper the expectations. In the words of Bill Parcells you are what your record says you are…Dallas is an average team, that historically fades in the latter halves of the seasons.

thats the way to think
but i agree with Rockport too
when the schedule came out the back half looked brutal. now it seems a little more friendly
Some of that back half STILL looks brutal. Nevertheless, you can't win 'em if you give up before you play 'em.

Unless the defense makes huge improvements, this team has zero chance of winning 10 games….zero.

The Cowboys came off a game in which they were supposed to be pulverized. This was supposed to be the Packers coming out party, giving notice to the rest of the NFL.

Instead, the Cowboys showed the NFL that they are at least as good as a projected favorite to win the Super Bowl. The Cowboys tied them with with two hands and a defense tied behind their back.

The Cowboys then went to play an away game, impaired by the loss of their primary offensive weapon along with 80% of their offensive line. The Cowboys didn't just win. They didn't need an Aubrey 60-whatever field goal to pull it out.

The Cowboys beat the you-know-what out of another NFL team with half their starters posing as cheerleaders on the sidelines. That's something.

I believe Schottenheimer when he says the defense will improve.

A defense rarely remains consistent throughout a 17 game season. There are injuries, returns from injury, trades and many other circumstances.

Most of all, however, there is the experience and learning that young players acquire as the season progresses. This is especially true when the team is young or unfamiliar with each other at the start of the season.

I would think that this can be further challenging with learning a new defensive system along the way. I've heard many DC describe how they had to scale down their defensive scheme, initially until the players become more familiar with it's nuances.

These circumstances might even account for the reason a DC would install familiar players into the starting lineup despite others being more talented, perhaps.

What I am saying is that the team we see today will be different than the team we see in December and January. Some may not be impressed with the recent competition but the Patriots just beat the Bills, the Broncos beat the Eagles and the Jaguars beat the Chiefs. If any of these scores had been reversed, the reaction to these games would be "So, what?", just like the reaction to the Cowboys beating the Jets.

I dont need to go look at anything. Several posters views change from week to week, depending on if we win or lose. Hell it changes from drive to drive.

There is absolutely no sane person that watched the Bears game debacle and thought this team was still capable of winning 10 games
Imagine thinking this team is winning 8 of the next 11 games with this defense

@Rockport Dallas has won 2 of their first 6 games. The two teams they’ve beaten have a combined 10 losses. Thats 10 losses for 2 teams in only 6 weeks.

Vegas is the only team left on the schedule of that caliber; and based on today that game may not work out. They have a guy a little better than Rico Dowdle

The Jets are the worst, made that way by their decision to use Justin Fields as their quarterback. Otherwise, they would be at least in the wildcard conversation.
After that its the Saints, then the Cowboys.
But the Saints may improve as the year progresses and Kellen Moore's leadership takes effect.
But, make no mistake; if the Jets had a real quarterback, they would have soundly defeated the Cowboys.
