We can assume all the Cowboys players were tested too, and all were negative. The Cowboys have enough players not playing this weeks. We don't need another batch to be sidelined.

If he was tested before the game and came up negative, and then retested later in the week after the game and tested positive... I would guess that he contracted it after the Dallas game.

It does matter. If he somehow played while carrying the virus, he could have spread it to the Cowboys.

Granted, I suspect if he had spread it, we’d have heard of positive tests for some Cowboys by now.
