My wife and I both plan to read the book. I'll see the movie if only because Tom Hanks is in it and I respect him as an actor.

Ron Howard could make 2 1/2 hours of Tom picking his nose and I'd be happy to go see it. They're a brilliant actor/director combo.

On another note regarding this movie, I'm really sick of seeing all the imbeciles that can't differentiate between historically based fiction and actual religion. Anyone that actually protests this movie has a screw loose.

It is getting some terrible reviews but at the same time it is getting huge reviews by the NYT and LAT and Eibert gives it 2 fast buttery popcorn thumbs up.

Ill not see it. Not my type of flick.

I will pass.

The book was not good at all. I thought it was cliched garbage that Brown seems to recycle in his books.

I am not surprised to see the horrible reviews since they really had not much to work with in the first place.

wondering bout the 3rd 1...

Yeah the 3rd one is a concern cuz it's not directed by Bryan Singer. We'll see how the new guy does.

None whatsoever.

Don't want to turn this into some kind of religious debate, but the only truth is that nobody knows the "Truth".

Of course the movie is fiction, no doubt about that. But as far as christ, christians, etc... (any kind of religion) no one "Knows" the truth.

That's where "faith" and "knowing" are different IMO. You have to have "Faith" and "believe" in god. But if you "knew" the truth you wouldn't need faith.

I'm sure I screwed that explanation up. Don't mean to offend anyone's religion, but it's the truth. We need to have "Faith" cuz we don't actually "Know".

Me? I don't care either way. I figure I might find out about all that stuff when I die. And if there really is a god out there I doubt he'll condemn me to hell just cuz I didn't have some water sprinkled on my head or whatever. There's plenty of priests out there that know more about god then I'll ever know, and have prayed more then I'll ever pray, but that deserve to go to the deepest part of hell cuz they molested some innocent kid. I'm no saint, but I haven't committed any of the "Big" sins. Although I know for a fact I'm capable of murder. If I found out right now (was presented undeniable facts) who killed my nephew I'd load up my gun and end his life within the hour.

But that's just gettin' a bit too much off topic.

I have the book, but have not got to read it yet...in the middle of a JRR Tolkien trilogy right now...well four since I am reading the hobbit.

However I do wish people to remember that the divinci code is a book and movie of FICTION.

So no need for people to get their whitie tighties all in a bundle.

saw it yesterday. fell asleep during the 1st half hour of it. after i woke up it turned out to be ok. the chick is pretty. after so much hype and controversy it was very anticlimatic. go see it if you know absolutely nothing about the book or the story, otherwise it's like reading yesterday's news.
