Dak and Zeke no respect. Wentz rookie of the week again?

Wow, that is pretty bad. Uh, Wentz lost them the game
To Ben honest, Ryan Matthews not carrying the ball in the correct hand cost them the game. Wentz had a good game overall.

That said, no way u pick him for ROTW over Dak or Zeke. That's ludicrous.

Not sure he was calling him out as much as he was emphasizing how important this game is to Dak's immediate future (to remain the starter) and how well he'll have to play to beat out Rodgers and the Pack. They are going to sell out to stop the run, bro. You can count on that. At that point, the game heavily falls on Dak's shoulders. So far, this season, he's passed all the tests with flying colors. This week is a completely different animal. Knowing Wingo's fan history, I would interpret it more as a call to arms rather than a call you out.
;)

Ah, gotcha. Didn't see it like that and certainly didn't know of Trey's allegiance to the Cowboys. My bad. :D

Admittedly, I didn't see the segment so I can't 100% say one way or the other what his tone was but the one thing I do know is that Wingo has been battling the Cowboys hate at that network for a long time, my brother.

The voting is done by fans. Also, Wentz has the no. 1 selling jersey in the NFL right now so it wouldn't be a stretch to think these Philly loons worked overtime to vote up Wentz.

As to why Dak wasn't on the ballot? I don't know. What I do know is that he's getting a TON of praise in the media from ESPN to NFL Network. In fact, you listen to 99% of the talking heads on the subject of Romo vs. Prescott and they are almost unanimously in favor of letting Prescott continue to start.
They are pushing for Dak to start. But I can't help but wonder if this isn't a shot at Romo from these talking heads as much as its praise for Dak. Or just more ways to go against anything Jerry says so they can bring up the last 20 years while bashing him.
Most of these media guys in the national media are from the northeast. We are a very polarizing team. Not many people can be totally objective when it come to the Dallas Cowboys.

I haven't been able to read this whole thread but a few things come to mind for me:

1. This is fan voting, so that makes it null and void in my mind.
2. There are a lot of Cowboy fans but there are a lot more Cowboy haters out there who don't want to see any Cowboy win any accolade.
3. There are also a lot of Ohio State haters out there who would casually vote against Elliott if given the chance.
4. QB's always get the votes over RB's unless they're so dominant that it can't be denied.

All of that is why fan voting means absolutely nothing to me. For it to matter in my mind, it needs to be the players peers, and coaches who are awarding the votes.

Zeke and Dak are probably taking votes away from each other, allowing Wentz to win.

Does it have to be persecution complex? Wentz taking the award over Zeke is worse than laughable. At some point you have to assume bias at work.
No, you really don't. You can be an adult about it and realize it means absolutely nothing and has zero effect on what happens on the field. What rock must you be living under to think Zeke and Dak are not getting any love? I don't even read that many sports sites, but they have all featured glowing reviews on one or both of them over the last couple of weeks.

The order should have been:

  1. Zeke (easily)
  2. Dak
  3. Jordan Howard
  4. Joey Bosa
  5. Wentz

Also, though I think Wentz was no where near Zeke or Dak, I disagree that one play cost them the game. I've always considered that flawed logic. jmo

Why are you so angry?

And of course awards have zero effect on what happens on the field. Nor do I claim that Dak and Zeke haven't been getting any media love. But none of that has anything to do with whether the award was properly given or the reasons for why it might not have been.

Of course, it turns out this is an award given on the basis of fan votes. That makes obvious the source of the bias. It doesn't take persecution complex to speculate, quite reasonably, that Philly fans stuffed the ballot box.

not really, Ryan Matthew's fumble was the difference. Wentz went for it all on that play, and threw an int, but at that point, the odds were stacked against them.

They had over a minute left and only needed a field goal.

When did a turnover with 2 minutes left in the game become a bigger difference than one that straight up ended the game? Wentz chose to go for it all, tossed a ball where the receiver didn't really have the corner beat, and it was a game ending turnover.

I don't get the media allover Wentz's nut sack. Sure his a good QB. But they don't run a sophisticated offense and its been dumbed down so he doesn't have to process that much. Most of his big plays comes from dump offs and screens. Its not like he's torching teams deep either and he's not as poised and confident standing in the pocket as Dak.

Honestly, Dak is a better QB than Wentz. Has better touch and better accuracy. Wentz is a bus driver. While Dak is a field commander.

I think it's easily argued Dak is a bus driver as well.

I think both qb's will be solid players but if you consider what the Eagles gave up to get him compared to us getting a potential franchise QB in the 4th it's a slam dunk that we won the lottery on this deal.
