I was one of the ones saying that to some on here....It has nothing to do with Dalton, it has to do with why some on here have said Dak isn't good...I was saying just make sure you judge Dalton by the same rules you judge Dak....Like I have said many times this past week, Dak was having a great QB year, I'm not sure why everyone thinks now that Dalton is in the defense and O-line will now fix themselves....

There are certainly things we need to clean up on special teams and offense as well.

Sadly, if we do, if the defense gets better, if special teams makes more plays than mistakes, and we win, some will give all the credit to Dalton even if he doesn't play as well as Dak has.

I am evaluating Dalton and Dak based on their individual play, not on team success, because a lot goes into team success. The ultimate goal, though, is for the team to play better and win no matter if one quarterback is as good as another. That's what I care about first.

LOL.....and what about the defense? Agenda?

So what your saying is if the offense was perfect, instead of scoring 37 points a game we would have scored 45 a game and won?

Genius stuff. Is that why they call you the guru? :muttley:

IDK why anyone would expect the same level of performance from their QB2.
Would KC expect the same performance from Chad Henne if Patrick Mahomes went down?
Would GB expect the same performance from Tim Boyle that is currently ahead of Jordan love on their depth chart to perform as well if Aaron Rodgers went down?
Would Seattle expect the same performance from Geno Smith if Russel Wilson went down?
But we are Cowboys Nation, and we expect Andy Dalton to put up the same numbers that Dak put up...

Ok so you want rational arguments from which side? again it's one thing to say "man its a great thing we brought Dalton here for this exact reason"..rational and correct

"Ooh we signed Dalton because the front office knows Dak sucks because ..XYZ...so now watch those wins pile up because Dalton is in now"
    Irrational and incorrect

NO ONE should expect Dalton to match what Dak was doing...but i continue to read people telling me why Dalton is going to be awsome and Dak was a bus driver....

So Dak-haters are supposed to stop hating on Dak, but posts absolving Dak and his 30 second TOP drives and multiple turnovers completely, while blaming the defense over and over and over and over again for the last five years is allowed, per Dak stans?

Dont judge an entire fan base based on opinions,, just look at the facts, look at a roster and form your opinion based off of performance.
Isnt that all we have as fans?
We signed Dalton because it was an excellent opportunity to obtain a very good backup QB at an unbelievable cap friendly price,, not because anyone with any rational brain process thought Dak sucked,, thats just you enabling and responding to the hate process.

Because Dak is a scrub that hasn’t won anything, with a talented roster and has in fact been the weak link and did nothing but padded stated in garbage tine, unlike all the other first rounders mentioned above that were legends in their sport and won championships carrying their teams to the promised land...

we're missing a key point that the offense, despite all it's monstrous yards, were not consistent throughout a game. Who cares if half the offense happens in the 4th?

That wasnt the point khiladi,, you missed the point.
Everyone expecting Dalton to lead this team better than Dak could have, is very biased, and you are totally missing the point of my post about current depth at the QB position in this league.
If you have payed attention, and know anything about my post history, you would know that I havent been very "Dak friendly", traditionally in my posts.
My response was simply pointing out that this team, is very fortunate to have a back up QB of Daltons level,, more fortunate than every team in the league IMO.

What's annoying are the fans acting like Dalton is the future and Prescott is done. Because clearly that's what they want. I don't see anyone NOT routing for Dalton. Being honest and reasonable about his skillset doesn't mean you aren't cheering for him.

    He's a back up. Period.

Dalton is a starting QB.. he was a second round draft pick a team to build a franchise around and set all sorts of franchise passing records. Dak lucked into an ideal situation, with all his flaws, and was baby-sat along the way. He was always slated to be a back-up period.

Replacing Dak with Dalton is nothing like the other cases..

yes, we are lucky that Dak experiment is pretty much over..

IDK how much clearer I can be.
You are correct,, Dalton is a starting QB in this league now.

Posters have redefined how QBs are judged. Dalton will be judged on the same standards is all. We will see how many times he is inaccurate, how many times he checks down, how often Zeke has a stacked box, how many good teams he beats, how he keeps scoring when our defense can’t stop the other team, etc.

    Well, yes, but technically no.

Part of your assessment of any player is going to be salary demands. Dak is a better quarterback than Dalton. No question. But is he $15 million a year better?

I think any QB who is good want be making 15 mill a year less in the current QB market..if Dalton can win with this Defense and o-line you will have teams willing to pay him north of 30 mill to come be a QB for thier team.
