I assume you meant that Dak now was a better passer than Tony then, right?

I can't imagine anyone arguing that Dak now is a better than Tony now. They may argue that a lot of other things (including far more reliable health wise..among other things) in his favor, which is fair, but pretty much nobody ( including every single Cowboy coach or player) would say Dak is currently a better passer.

Dak is doing great and has a bright future as well.
We should all be thrilled.

I can.

Dak is more efficient and in the end...more effective.

Romo is a much better deep passer. He's not greatly accurate on those deep passes, but he has the anticipation for them that Dak is still struggling to get.

Dak is a much better short passer. He's far better on all screen passes and anything underneath. I think they are both about even on intermediate passes.

Combine that with Dak's ability to run and throw off the bootleg and to be able to use RPO's, I think that makes him more efficient over the course of a year.

I think it shows that Dak is clearly a better passer than Romo. And why would I compare Romo when he was in his 4th year in the league at 26 years old versus Dak who is in his 1st year and 23 years old?

The offensive line in 2007 is not comparable to 2016 so the stats are not comparable either. Now, if you are talking about as a rookie then I would agree.

You also have 2007 T.O, Crayton and 2007 Witten. That is far greater than 2016 Dez, T-Will and 2016 Witten. Beasley is far better than Hurd and Miles Austin, but I don't think he's enough to make up for 2007 Owens and Witten.

But you hate stupid people. Self-hate is a disease man...

Standards buddy, standards. My standards are far above yours and the rest of the world. The standard average Intellectual quotient for the worlds population is an IQ of 100. I find that truly intelligent people are a rather small minority (maybe 25%) of the worlds population. My definition of stupid is definitely not an IQ 100 or less as the general consensus states. It's an IQ of under 120.

Look at the world today and remember. Do not ever under estimate the power of stupid people in large groups.

Have you ever taken a *real* IQ test? Do you need one of these?

I love Dak. Can't believe we got him how we did. The next decade looks suddenly promising when it looked bleak before.

But Romo is the only chance at a Super Bowl right now. Dak needs more time to develop, like any rookie.

Dak in 2016 played better than Romo has the past 2 years. Why does Romo get one more chance at a Superbowl despite Dak doing the work behind center this season?

LOL, no, Dak didn't outplay Romo of 2014. Tony should have been MVP that year. He was brilliant.

Dak has had a nice season, beyond his years. He is not the reason for the success. He has the best offensive line in football, the best RB, a HoF tight end, and a terrific receiving corp. He's done a nice job avoiding mistakes - unlike Weeden and Cassel - but he doesn't read a defense anywhere close to what Romo can.

Romo is a significantly better QB at this point in time. That's not really debatable. What is a valid question is if Romo can take hits and keep playing.

Lmao.. yes I have actually. Several of them.

I'm a Senior Software Engineer. Perhaps you'd like to reevaluate your opinion which is clearly based on conjecture?

By the way, the average Iq is 98 in the US, not 100. Also, there are several intelligence types, not just one. Stop downing people strictly based on a number in one type of intelligence. It's unbecoming.

On a side note, I see so much talk about Dak haters, but somehow I never seem to see much of it. Is it all about the 2-3 posters who are throwing a little bit of shade because of their loyalty to Romo? Because Dak's pretty much universally beloved by our fans and the media at large. What am I not seeing?

I've been quiet on this topic but I will go on record and agree with this. Love Dak, but feel that Tony would have led us to similar or better results this season and gives us our best shot at a Lombardi this year. That's not meant as a slight to Dak, either, and I hope he continues to prove anyone who doubts him wrong as he's earned our support by his play and handling of being thrust into the spotlight.

I'm not sure the record would be as good, but I do generally agree that Tony is the better QB. There are definitely games that could come up where I"d prefer having his experience in there (the Giants is the obvious one).

At the same time, Dak doesn't make mistakes, and Dak makes plays with his legs to keep games going. He plays less risky football, and he's capable of upping his game in the 4th quarter and in overtime. He's a remarkable guy for a rookie QB, and in two years he's might be unbelievable. I get why we're sticking with him and it's the right decision, but both guys have huge talent and their strengths aren't the same. In most cases, it wouldn't matter because the rest of the team is good, also, but there are going to be games where you'd want one skill set over the other depending on the opponent. Unfortunately, football teams don't really work that way.

Agreed 100%. I probably should have stuck with "similar" results, since it'd be a tall order to produce better than 13-3 (likely 14-2 if week 17 was in play). I could see us pulling out at least one of the NY games with Romo under center, but the trade off may have been a game like the Washington Thanksgiving game or the Pittsburgh game (although Zeke was the x-factor in that one).

I would agree with it, for the most part. I won't say that Romo is the only shot the Cowboys have to win it all, just the best shot. It's possible for the Cowboys to win the Superbowl with Dak at QB, but Romo was still the better option. This team could be good enough to win with either starting. I'd prefer they go with the best option (Romo), but they don't appear to be, so I am hoping they can with the 2nd option.
