Dak is not the guy

His 2024 performance was disappointing even by his standards, that isn’t disputed.

But on a very general level, you can win with an average-or-better QB as long as the rest of the team compensates. Dak could be a SB champion somewhere else, and he can be a SB champion in Dallas if the Cowboys were run differently. That is the root of the discourse around Dak: he has to outplay his potential or the team fails. The organization is built to be that way and that is a fatal flaw. Dak in Detroit is probably pretty close to mirroring Goff. Dak in Los Angeles would get them to the playoffs like Herbert did. Dak in Houston probably outplays Stroud (I think people are overrating him a bit).

Knowing what you have in Dak and not adjusting what’s around him will be the problem, because Trying to draft a Josh Allen or a Joe Burrow isn’t a realistic alternative.
Dak could never be a SB champion. People forget how awful the NFC East was, while he had the best OL and RG in the league, facing the most stacked boxes by far. Dude could just diy back and pick apart man defenses, but as usual he sucked it up when he faced good teams.

No way Dak would not get the Chargers into the playoffs like Herbert did…. Stroud played awful last year and any QB could have been on that team and gotten to the playoffs with that defense..

I guarantee you Dak would not get the Chargers into the playoffs like Herbert did…
Dak isn't even in the top 15 QBs in reality. Just in fantasies people have.

I was cracking up watching Dak throw pick after pick in the GB playoff game…
Can't remember what game by now...not TOO long ago. Dak threw to his right in the flat, and almost got pick sixed.

Then...he ran the exact same play AGAIN..to the same guys...WR and defense players...with the same timing...exact same play. PICK SIX, this time. So weird. Not sure I ever saw such a thing in all of sports.

NOT "the guy".

He got picked on that route a couple times that year. I think it was Kellen Moore’s last year here.

People do not "forget". They CHOOSE to not say it. With Dak...there's very few accomplishments. We've heard it many times. A "good guy". A "great leader"...we don;t hear THAT much anymore. "2nd place MVP vote" ...Like really? THAT..is an accomplishment? Slim pickings.

A "top five QB" ...even his biggest fans have slid that down.

Now with injury, age...a team that STILL might not be complete...

Not sure why people think Dak needs their protection. He deserves every bit as much criticism as any other part of the Cowboys. Except our punter and kicker. :)

But...how many QBs go to the exact same play, the exact same coverage, the exact same timing...inexplicable. "not the guy".

We watched poor Jim Kelly in super bowl 4 years in a row and even he never did that. Trying to figure out if ANYONE ...EVER...did that.

Beating a dead horse. Thank Jerry and his goofy son. Well at least we got Milton He’s a hidden gem. I cont help being cynical 30 years of being fed Jerry s crap sandwiches
I’ll start on another horse. News flash…Milton is NOT a hidden gem.

Going to be a long season for ya  You can't name four quarterbacks playing now that have 3 or 4 straight playoff wins:laugh:

Oh yeah.. I know what play you are talking about and I can’t remember the game and it’s exactly how I was feeling, the guy did the same exact stupid play. Thinking it’s the Titans or Texans for some reason.

I am so glad this forum does not represent but a small portion of the Dallas Cowboys fans.
