Dak is not the guy

Dak is not the guy.

Trade Micah draft Manning.

Even if it turns out worse it really doesn’t matter, we going no where like this anyway.
If you trade Micah you have to put that money/trades/daft pics back into defense. We will never win until Jerry and many of fans get that we need a strong ren defense and that means start rebuilding in the trenches. The worst thing they could do is handicap the team again by not addressing the bigger needs

Mostly in their prime. Yet that team also crapped the bed. It’s not the QB.
Don't you mean it's not ONLY the QB? Dak has sucked in big games. Your top paid, top billed player shouldn't suck in big games.

Would it really matter if he was making $45M instead of $60M?

We have a front office that isn't willing to spend big to give the team the best shot regardless.

You're bailing Jerry out by blaming Dak. Dak's a good-but-not-great QB, and the best we currently have.

It's not like we aren't trying to upgrade for cheaper - would've been great if Trey Lance and now Joe Milton panned out. Dak is simply the best we can do at QB for the time being.
I’m not blaming Dak. I’m just pointing out that when fans show angst over the contract it is a legitimate issue. Any team that ties up that much money on their quarterback better have a plan to back it up. His contract is an issue. All owners must spend a minimum of the cap so tying up that much on one player can have an adverse effect on building a roster.

The ten highest paid NFL quarterbacks in average annual value have collectively appeared in 3 Super Bowls, none have won one. Cowboys fans should be troubled by Dak’s deal.

I am so glad this forum does not represent but a small portion of the Dallas Cowboys fans.
It represents a very large portion. Every Cowboys fan I talk to in real life, even ones that I just met for the first time, would all be called "haters" here.

Even a couple of former players admit in private conversations.

Nobody is happy about this, not even you contrarians that only stick up for this clown show because you are bored on the internet.

When you get paid like the number one guy and by a large margin, you better play like the number one guy! An 86 qb rating last year is about 7 points below average.

Dak won like 3 games last year and even more losses..86 qb rating (To be fair, I did enjoy the Pittsburgh win).

Cooper Rush went basically 5 (I am giving him the Cincinnati win because of that Penn State cornerback, who let the ball hit him on the kick off and the turnover) and 6 last year…83 qb rating

Anyway, not much difference. Basically the same performance… a mid 80’s qb rating number is the baseline for being a career back up.

For 60 million a year, shouldn’t that gap be significantly and I mean SIGNIFICANTLY wider? Thinking 101 qb rating along with 12 wins a year vs an 86.

Dak is taking up 20% of the cap while dude taking up .4% is playing about the same.

If you get paid like the man, you better be the man!!!

What point have you thought Dak could win 3-4 games in a row in the playoffs? He can barely win one.

It is not luck. You need dominant qb play in this league and the playoffs. He is NOT the guy. The Dak experiment needs to end. We need a new QB ASAP.

Go Cowboys!
Jerry thought he was the guy and that is all that matters.

Our GM play has been killing this team for 29 years.

LOL.......Be in whatever bucket you choose.
I just follow the team. I don’t worry or care about other fan’s dedication to the team I follow for entertainment. I do get entertainment out of pretentious fandom though-which is one reason why I spend some time here.

Thanks Captain obvious..lol

Cowboys front office have backed themselves into a corner with Dak, largely due to his contract.
Unless he gets injured and Milton or another QB step up, then they will probably restructure his contract again next year, leading to another dead cap hit in a void year. At least by then if he hasn't done anything they-or Stephen should be willing to move on- I hope.

Not likely. He'll probably be here 2 more seasons after this one. Because it will cost more to get rid of him than if he just sat on the bench.

I agree. Just thinking 3 years down the road when the contract is going to expire.

When you are buillding a team, where do you usually start? Can we still build a team around an old broken down quarterback that is taking up a lot of your resources, versus a young good quarterback on the cheap?
What does our GM do to build a team? Our team's process is to build a team that can compete, not contend. We don't have a QB that can make up for that.

Dak is 16% against the cap. Only 1 QB won a SB being 16% or higher against the cap. Mahomes did it twice.

When Dak proves you guys wrong…..receipts will be pulled.
Is there an ETA on when this "proving wrong" is supposed to take place? I mean it's a decade and as I recall they gave a decade for Garrett the OG learn on the job HC and everyone here universally wanted that dude gone. So how many more years before Dak does this "proving wrong" act?

I know it makes you swoon to see Dak rack up garbage time stats when we're down by 20+ in a big game...so...to each his own, eh?
na don't give a crap really. Don't care if he stays don't care if he leaves. Don't expect a lot from the team because of our GM not the QB. Ill sit in front of my flat screen every Sunday though because that's what I do in football season..I just know that this fan base is pretty stupid when it comes team sport football. They latch on to a specific player and its all his fault. Do it with dak did the same to Romo. We are a spoiled fanbase because we experienced alot of success in the 70s and 90s pre salary cap but its evident that Jerry can no longer put together a complete team. I know why other fan bases cant stand us heck there's a good faction of our fanbase that i dont care for.

Honestly i could of stayed out of this thread but then Id miss all the whine bags.Pure gold!

Its refreshing to finally be able to broach the subject.

The OP brings up a novel and original point I have never heard before.

Unfortunately he didn't ask us for out thoughts @Coogiguy03 style so I guess I'll stay out of it.
