Dak is now 3rd in MVP odds

So you are doing the flip flop, got it. lol
call it what you like im not here to "Be right" thats you guys thing, im here to see this team win.. if the FO (which the Q trade was a start) builds a defense to go with this offense they have a shot and ill give them full credit for that.

 :lmao:

You think that game was indicative of his 12 game season so far? Really? That's what you got from that?

Was the Denver game the very definition of Dak this year?

Jeez man
Right. We have to be careful not to hold QBs to different standards. Very few of them are great in every game and none of them can win without the team around them playing well. It's kind of like the first game against Philly, a few drops were too much to overcome. That wasn't on the QB, that was on Lamb and Ferguson. It also doesn't mean that there weren't losses where we needed more from the QB just like the Rams did from Stafford. That isn't always the QB's fault just the way the game goes.

We've got some in here who want to measure QBs in a vacuum in a team game. Instead, we have to take into account team play (drops, protection, defensive failures, etc.)

I don't recall saying anything of the kind. In most of the other games the Rams defense has gotten turnovers, given them short fields and held the other team's offense in check, thus affording Stafford and the offense the luxury of not having to do as much heavy lifting. One game, good or bad, will never define an entire season. It goes in the hopper with the rest of them and then we look back on them once the hopper is full with 17 games. Through 12 games there is no denying Stafford has played at an MVP level.. There is also no denying that Dak has as well. A classic two things can be equally true. I will always maintain that a guy trying to overcome a 30 ppg defense is doing more heavy lifting than a guy working with a 16 ppg defense. That's why Burrow was in the MVP conversation last year despite the Bengals' poor record. Frankly I would not have minded him winning it given the circumstances.

I like what this guy said......who said there was NOT consideration? His chances are slim but the key here is to highlight how much he has consistently played at a high level over the last few weeks/games.

While Prescott’s chances of passing Maye and Stafford are slimmer since he doesn’t have a clear path to a No. 1 seed in the NFC, he’s a player worth monitoring after moving from +10000 to +1100.
I believe you may have misinterpreted what I said. I was referring to your creation of this thread concerning MVP odds in relation to Prescott's chances of winning the award. So, when I said:

Objectively, that is a lot of ground to make up in the final weeks of the regular season.
And you replied:

I don't care if he makes it up........just continue playing top 3-4 ball
My reply to your reply was simply pointing out that you considered this information to be relevant to the MVP race--despite saying, "I don't care if he makes it up".

Otherwise, why post it? To 'prove' Prescott is playing very well? He has been playing well.

Perhaps to support the contention, Prescott continuing to play 'top 3-4 ball' will help the team reach the playoffs? His performance would make that possible.

This is all already understood, despite whatever opposing criticisms would suggest he is not. And it is extremely unlikely that anything posted on this site will change a differing opinion about Prescott. That is absolutely true for who will win or contend for this season's MVP award.

I’m honestly not sure.

I know the award gets announced in early February.
It doesn't matter. I've always thought they should do it like Hockey. Have a regular season MVP, a Playoffs MVP, and a Super Bowl MVP.

The Associated Press voters submit their ballots for the award each year before postseason games are played.

lol...however, we get two or three a day about where Dak stands.

Chicken or egg?

Yeah I mean you got sure have to make the playoffs and until that happens there’s no chance but I am shocked he’s 3rd right now.
Why are you shocked? He is playing his best football in a long, long time. But the MVP is not the goal of a team.

I think many on here are missing the bigger picture. It's not important IF Dak wins the MVP or not...what IS important is that he is playing at a level to be consider in the top 5 of MVP candidates, which means at his position he is giving the team every opportunity to win. This is the true value of how Dak is performing.
I concede your point, however, what is irksome for many of us, is this incessant slobbering by some over Dak's performance week-to-week. We all want our QB to be successful and playing well, but it seems like we can't go a day without a thread speaking of Dak's MVP chances and where he ranks in that category. The only ranking I give a rat's behind for, is how our win/loss percentage places us in the standings. I am more interested in our team's chances of making the playoffs over our QB's chances of winning the MVP.

There are a couple of chances of making the playoff threads, why not just stick to those? The whole of the "You love Dak" "You hate Dak" thing is 2 sides to the same coin....just stick to the threads that interest you and problem solved...

That is oftentimes more difficult than you suggest, because it seems like most threads eventually interject Dak into the conversation which then devolves into a "I hate" or "I love" Dak thread.
