Dak is now 3rd in MVP odds

That is oftentimes more difficult than you suggest, because it seems like most threads eventually interject Dak into the conversation which then devolves into a "I hate" or "I love" Dak thread.
for sure there are a few that will always try and bring the war to a thread, but you can find good conversation on the topic you want most times just may have to tune out some posts.

When the Rams asked Stafford to do more we saw what happened didn't we?
What?

They asked him to do the same thing he has always done. A ball deflected by a lineman for one interception. One bad pass for an interception & one backside sack forcing a fumble. In the rain.

It was just one of those games where the plucky Panthers got a few plays & won the game. Nothing more, nothing less.

The higher he gets, the better our chances ............keep it up Dak!!!!

Dak Prescott Now Third in NFL MVP Odds Empty heading

This season, Prescott has thrown for 25 scores, eight interceptions and 3,261 yards while completing 69.3 percent of his passes.

Dallas may have to run the table to make the playoffs, but if that happens, Prescott deserves a look for the MVP. The Cowboys are in the mix to have the best passing offense in the NFL with Prescott, CeeDee Lamb and George Pickens leading the way.

While Prescott’s chances of passing Maye and Stafford are slimmer since he doesn’t have a clear path to a No. 1 seed in the NFC, he’s a player worth monitoring after moving from +10000 to +1100.
Isn't that something the cat calls from Papadawg gone silent

Helps to have winning record by more than one game.

True...True.

Since the first week of the season Dak has been at the top or in the top 2 or 3 quarterbacks in the league. He is leading the league in QBR and has been for a months.
There is a reason why Dallas has had the best offense the whole season, and why Pickens has emerged as an elite receiver, after being given away by his previous team. Schottenheimer never had this kind of offensive success until he met Dak. And Dallas has had the best or near the best offense for years now when Dak is healthy. Daks last healthy season, 2023, he was favored to win the MVP most of the season and came in second. He has been MVP level for years.

welp...that's it: Now we'll have TWO "near-MVP" seasons to hang our hats on once Dak goes deer-in-headlights in a playoff game.

Dak played well on Thursday...no doubt. But give Mahomes his receiving corp and vice versa...and the score ain't close. Plus...the Chiefs aren't what they used to be. Even the Eagles were basically sending out SOS's before that Sunday game. You gotta beat who is front of you...so kudos...but...it ain't like he's going to Canton.

It's a QB award. Not MVP.
Fact. Sequon was obviously what powered last year's Eagles team. How does Jaylon Hurts look now that Sequon ain't putting up 2k yards? But...they'll always praise the QB.

I mean...Dak has 2 all-pro WRs...and yet...it's clearly (NOT) all Dak's doing. His receivers, line and RB are garbage in their minds.

its never all the QB's doing, thats an un realistic argument.. this team wins out and get into the playoffs with the offense keeping its current pace... Dak will have done a great job wether you like him or not...

He can do a great job...fine. Your (collective) issue is that you only mention his supporting cast when Dak fails.

i get the battle lines here and it as always goes both ways... no QB wins with no WR's or a bottom defense.. or a GM in hibernation..but ill ask this, if this teams does the unthinkable and wins out and Dak keeps his current play.. regardless of the battle lines in this forum.. would you say "Man Dak deserves this credit" even with the other posters giving you "The i told you so" because that kinda seems like your point... "I cant give Dak credit because i dont like what poster a says"

See? The team wins and I AUTOMATICALLY have to give credit to Dak. I "have to admit"....

meanwhile, if the team loses, you gonna be willing to AUTOMATICALLY blame Dak...or do you want a more nuanced approach?

Food for thought...you do the dishes.

no i layed it out clearly Dak has played damn good and as i said he keeps his current play.. are you holding your line because of the post on this forum or are you saying he earned the credit? simple question... are you more into what is said here or what happens on the field?

No. Same answer Yoda gave Luke when he said, "Then I am a Jedi?"

(Yoda laughs) "Vader...you must face Vader. Then and only then...a Jedi will you be."

So if you pay attention to MY posts, I refer to Dak as "The Choker". This means he's good enough to raise your expectations, but lacks the mental toughness to deliver on those raised expectations. So, for example, I predicted the GB debacle...even the blowout. Why? Because Dak CONSISTENTLY chokes.

So...only when he conquers his playoff demons will I give Dak any credit.

Thats what i asked if they win out meaning all of it,,, or would you be back in here saying "Dak only won because of the team around him" because thats the battle line your on... your original response was basically "I say this because they say that" i was just wondering if that was more important than what happens on the field thats all.

NFL MVP is a quarterback award, plain and simple.

The only time the award isn't given to a QB is when a RB gets over 1800 yards in a season where the top seeded teams don't have quarterbacks that are universally considered to be elite.

Since 2000, 22 of the 25 MVPs have been QBs, the other three have been RBs.

The quarterback will always receive the greatest consideration because it is the position that has the greatest influence on the outcome of the game. That is just the way the game is designed.

In any case, it's never going to be fair so it's not something that should carry a lot of prestige, but you can bet it comes up in contract negotiations.

Perhaps they should do away with individual awards entirely.

The only award is the trophy you get at the end of the season for your team being division, conference or Super Bowl champions.
